Depends on if you want to do g2g or not. li can create many jars from a single puck in one sitting. masters you have to grow out then g2g and grow those out.

So how do you guys do it the easiest and most efficient in 2016? I have a lot of agar, and a lot of time. I'm ready to start making you guys ask "man, how'd you do that?"

Tired of risking my freedom for PF Tek results.

I fucking g love this hobby, and am DONE half assing it

If you grow out the myc on your pasty plates almost to the edges, then slice the agar into a 6x6 grid, you can "tigerdrop" 36 wedges of agar into your jar and shake em up. Your grains will colonize way faster that way.

The real answer is that there is no one way of doing something. Every method has vectors, every method has drawbacks. I use agar wedges, G2G, LC as well as a number of fruiting strategies. The most important thing is to have clean spawn, clean culture. If you can do that most everything else follows.

Moral is get picky about what you consider acceptible. Don't be afraid to pitch something cause you didn't like how it recovered or its not looking aggressive. Work hard at achieving things that do make the cut.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Pasty is fucking sensational, comeback kid is showing off some mad skills, I'm soon to follow. I'm not good at much. I'm gonna get good at this.

Excited. I love this shit.

No one knows what I'm doing except you all, and me. That's how it should be.

Pasty, why do you not set on one method? Boredom, wanting to "mix it up"? I look up to you and follow your word. You're the shit man.

I won't comment or give advice on something I haven't done myself. I like to be well rounded. Doing lots of methods allows you to be fluid. Makes it easy to track vectors. To understand the organisim better.

Dont you or didnt you have a clone that you said was great in potency and yield yet it was a slow colonising culture pasty? And what would be a fast growth from agar to grain 1 week and 2 weeks is average?

left this agar out for a week and the red color disapearred on its own i guess thats why the agar in plates do it and makes your myc look funky

My F2 RW clone is a fast colonizer, great potency, excellent yeild. But is slow to pin. I still love it.

I dunno. Most are pretty average overall. Wedge drop and shake 10 days later. A week after G2G and 10 days after that spawn. 5 days after spawn fruit and 8-10 days see pins.

After a while you stop paying much attention to speed of shit. When I was really rolling I was usually trying to slow stuff down.

I was in this spot once, and had to let grains go unspawned for up to a week or more. It really got me antsy.
I've been trying to stagger things a bit. I like wedges to grains, even though it's a bit slower, but it helps me keep track of the rotation.

Ya in a g2g i usually am pretty much done from a week to 10 days ive never had clean spawn take more then 2 weeks to be finished it always went ugly before that if it was bad ive had some shit colonize quick that was full of bacteria tho even after a shake the wet grain stayed the same ... my gt tub was the fastest to date picking mushies in 12 days from fruiting ... but usually about 15 to 16 days on average

So I just spawned a bunch of very healthy (from what I know) milo spawn to CVG (bucket tek) in 6 qt dubs.
Ratio is 1:1.  I have the dubs taped together and plan to leave them like that until harvest.
In the honest opinion of those more experienced than me in bulk, how many days should I wait before checking/fruiting?
All tubs are two quarts each spawn and sub, they are currently residing in black trash bags to keep up CO2.
The 1.5" holes are two at sub level on long side and one up high on short, two layers MP tape on bottom, one on top.
I forgot to take photos and REFUSE to check for at least five days.
What do ya think folks?

Fruit them now if you want. They should be getting light right from day one and some people have found better pintimes when fruiting is initiated at spawning. As long as you have a bit of a top layer so the grains don't dry out I would fruit now myself.

1:1 however is a very high ratio, you might have water supply issues later on. A better ratio is 1:1.5 or 1:2.

Noted, done, and thank you.
They have about 1/2-3/4" top layer, sides and corners slightly tightened up.
I thought of the moisture issue, look at me learning, and used 5.5 qts water to 1 brick coir and 2 qts verm.
I will keep a close eye.

The truth is that brown spots on the base are an indication of vert, as well as pseudomonas bacteria. Without a microscope you won't be able to tell what it is.

Oh and yeah clones will be a bitch to get clean.

Posed this in the pic of the day thread, may get more discussion here

The left is gt, the right is Z strain.

The GT looks far better IMO. I THINK the Z strain looks like shit. But the growth may be normal. Isn't still dirty, GT about clean?
