I used glad wrap and double wrapped like I saw on bods agar thread, maybe I should only wrap once or maybe wrapped a little more then I thought? Im using pyrex petris instead of the plastic ones if that matters
Noticed the glass. That's cool.
Myce in 2nd & 3rd picture look healthy enough to transfer from. There are satellite colonies on that plate so be advised. Transfer from myce opposite side of satellite colony. That plate would also be a good candadite for a "josex poke". Other than that, keep trying. You're doing alright.
Glad and Saran Wrap both work but are not as pearmeable as plastic polymers such as parafilm.

What makes you think that?
They're probably more periable lol, at least from what I can find
Parafilm Gas permeability in 24 hours at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity: O2 (oxygen): ≤ 350cm³/m² N2 (nitrogen): ≤ 105cm³/m² CO2 (carbon dioxide): ≤ 1100cm³/m
I find a lot of different #s for saran and glad films

I use glass petris and haven't had a problem yet. I wouldn't think that would be an issue for at least two weeks
Yeah I'm not sure either, its been about 8 days since inoculation. I'm thinking of transfering some over but now I'm worried to open them

In the lab i work in, we cover the openings of any glassware like beakers and flasks with plastic wrap as soon as they come out of the dryer to keep dust out of them.
As the glass cools it forms a vacuum on the inside that sucks the plastic wrap into the opening creating a concave bowl. No lie the plastic stays like that for weeks, sometimes longer, before finally equalizing pressure.
When you remove the plastic wrap you even hear a distinct suction sound.
I prefer plastic wrap but there is no way it's as permeable as parafilm.

I have this pint of GT on WBR and I have 6 quarts and a pint of oats ready to inoculate. I'm gonna try to greak it up in the jar so I can just pour it in for G2G. If it doesn't want to crumbe like that, should I use a spoon or maybe cruble by hand with gloves like spawining? I've had so much failure with LC and LI recently, not to mention my rookie Agar adventures, that I feel this is the best uae of my pint instead of spawining a shoebox.
Smacked it with a roll o gorilla tape and it worked quite well enough. I like G2G way better that LC right now hah

Just spawned 5 shoeboxes and shook up 14 jars. Start to think about switching to bags after that good wrist exercise

Is it true that psilocybe mexicana does not bruise blue?
i'm watching "mycology of psilocybin mushrooms - paul stamets - 1998 on reddit while searching the shroomery, i guess that says something about me after work, but anyway at 00:20:45 he's talking about maria sabina and Gordon Wasson and he says " curiously the most popular specimen in that area was psilocybe mexicana, you can jump on this mushroom, it does not bruise blue whatsoever, its very high in psilocybin, very low in psilocin....."
I'm well aware that psilocin is what oxidizes and turns blue, and that not all mushrooms that bruise are active, but i thought however that all actives did bruise??

I'm not a big fan and am aware of his book and all its misinformation, but i try to learn where i can.
That just seemed way wrong. In video you can kind of get to see peoples personalities. Many people you wouldn't see much, but Paul loves to play to the crowd, i think thats where that statement stemmed from. This "talk" is a lot of telling stories and playing to a crowd it seems.

I've just started experimenting with bags and I've had no clean results due to various reasons. Next I'll try som G2G in bags done in my SAB.
