Just clean out agar and rinse. Bout as hard as cleanimg out a pasty plate.
The PP petris ive seen are pretty damn clear. Enough for my liking
Yeah I use glass petris and they are easy enough to clean, my biggest compliant is the time it takes removing agar and cleaning them, especially if the agar dried out. I use a 1qt tupperware with 10% bleach water to open the dishes in incase of any crap and then rinse with warm soapy water after scooping the agar out, its not bad for a couple but when I have to do the equivalent of a couple 'sleeves' its a chore
Canharo, I found a 10 pack of 100mm glass plates for 30$. Is that a good deal? How do you sterilize them and get em to the sab clean? Wrap em individually in foil?
I paid a bit more but thats to get the ones I like and yeah I've PC'd them and done them in an oven, I like the oven better & yeah either way they get wrapped up in foil

Can I put my BRF cakes upside down in the fruiting chamber? Or do they have to be right side up(being the side that had the vermiculite on top)?

Explicitdetail said: So I’ve got a kind of cultivation question. I’m getting ready to move in a few weeks and don’t want to travel with a majority of my current cult gear. I want to get rid of my totes and such but don’t know how to go about it. I’ve thought about taking it to the dump but I’ve never been and have no idea how they operate and don’t want to raise suspicion taking a bunch of totes with holes in them. I’ve thought about breaking them up and taking hem in boxes. Anyone have experience with this or have some suggestions. I’m probably being parinoid but don’t want to get busted doing something as simple as trying to get rid of supplies.
Put stuff in them?
Are they SGFC with holes all up in em or have huge polyfill holes cut in them? Few people will recognize them for what they are, even if you think everyone knows. Tape the polyfill holes in a way its reusable and not noticable? use them in the garage for dirt, give them to a kid for a million things to do with it? most plastics don't biodegrade, i'd ask you recycle it at the least. But use that thing until its busted.
I have a question for cult : what kind of gloves do y'all use in your sab / sterile work? i originally had some mr. clean reusable gloves that were relaly nimble and went up to my elbows but i could only get them in one size from amazon a little too small. Disposable cheapies feel amazing but i just went through a box of 100 and hate being wasteful. Just got a nitrile $4 pair at lowes but i can't do shit in them, they fit great, great length, zero finger feel and agility.

What kind of texture do you want with straw pellets? I have no idea if im at field capacity. Are straw pellets supposed to be like coir light and fluffy at field capacity, cuz its really dense and im wondering if mycelium can colonize through it or if it will stall out.

I'm not great about the details I started with 2.5c of pellets to 3c of water and adjusted from there. I mix them 50/50 with wood pellets as well. Field capacity is different with these. They take on tons of water
Black Poplar 'Piopinno' on that mix with oat bran

Just did some g2w with my azurescens. 3qts of grain spawn was definitely overkill on prep lol, I thought I was gonna be able to do more wood spawn, oh well.
Hopefully I used enough grain, idk if grain spawn goes as far with g2w as it does with g2g. This was my first grain transfer...I need to get some pint jars for masters

im really starting to hate on oats ..producers pride*
going over notes and shit it seems oats inoculated with liquids are more prone to spares uncolonized 'wet' grains and poor recovery.
oats prepared in a similar manor but inoculated with wbs masters(made with LC) are preforming much better all around. p tamp oat jars inoculated with wbs masters have sat lasting months. no problems. and no bacterial looking recovery signs. but after colonizing straight oats with liquids maybe a few days past 100%, i noticed metabolites inside the fucking jars.
only seen this with oats and they have been a real pain in my ass. too much green. just thought id share a pattern i noticed.
