When I pull my pp5’s from the pc I stack them on their sides so condensation pools on the side and not on the surface of the media. When I go to use them in the sab I crack a corner first and drain the condensation before I make a transfer. No way I’m leaving that much liquid in there. It’s what works for me

That's what I was looking for. Thanks for the replies brothers.
Steevo. So you leave the pp5s in the pc until they're cool and the agar is completely set up?

I've never had it end horrily I usually don't have much anyway, why is it bad to have water in a sterilized no pour?

I always had condensation with no pour. Firm finger flick fixes after 12hrs.
Excess water seemed to always be consumed by the growing culture

I just don't like the water running all over the culture. It probably doesn't hurt, but I want it dry.

Uhh. Ok. I never thought to or needed to pour it out. Sometimes I utilized that water to hydrate old ass spore prints.

I do the same thing, that's why I was wondering why crispy said it can hurt things. It's helped hydrate spores for me in the past, why would sterile water all of a sudden fuck things up? I don't get it...

I've had some pooling in my plates recently, don't know why.. Mats down the myc, I don't dig it but everything appears fine.

Oh, and I have rings in the myc now, don't know what's going on there either. Light cycles maybe?

Excess water leads to bacteria. Spores are not sterile. A little condenstae on the lid of a no pour or a petri if managed well will absorb. Managed well means kept in an environment that has a constant temp and H. as well as keeping them level so they don't drip and pool.

I understand how it can make bacteria spread easier, but there's no way you can convince me that sterile water will just grow bacteria all of a sudden. It's gotta come from somewhere

Sterilize an overly wet agar plates and see for yourself . I had problems with that and my solution was taking the plates out at 0 psi (and dumping excess water in a sab when needed)
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24785959M Thats bacteria from unopened plates.

I've had rings of growth like that in different plates/different cultures and never knew what caused it or if it was bad. The temperatures where they grew did fluctuate so that makes sense now.
