It looks like knots to me. What makes you say it's yeast?

I don't think it is, you would know if it's yeast, it would have a bread like smell.

Yeah I saw nate's post in the other thread lol.
Time to get to pasteurizing some straw, my oyster jars are fruiting in vitro big time and I had to pull chunks of deformed oyster out when I was spawning some the other day.

lol, i get those little white specks in my jars too. i use agar; a PC; and a SAB in a big hard floor walk in closet. i don't think it's "yeast" either. what type of grain are you using?
those specks show up on my oats right before a jar starts growing mushrooms in it. happens with all my oat jars. i like to let my jars grow a few before i do a spawn run. make good eatin'

Lots of yeasts don't smell like bread either. Like the vast majority of them. And lots of them have pesudomycelial growth phases
C.albicans the causal agent of vaginal yeast infections can grow single cellular or in a mycelium like way. And doesn't smell like bread. Its also ubiquitous in nature

My Jar of Wild Bird seed was inoculated the same time as two oat jars that i just layed down to mono yesterday. the WBS colonized faster, but the oats were producing mushrooms in quantity while the WBS was not. the moisture in the Oats was much higher than the WBS. so grains and water content were the only difference. my question is this: why did my oats grow mushrooms first?
any questions?
I'm thinking about just stickin' oats.
also, psilocybe cubensis and everything that falls in it, amazonians, B+, Golden teachers etc is all one species? the differences are just morphological? i probably didn't get that right.
full of questions! sorry.
gonna shroom tonight! gonna do me a little more than an eighth. working my way up to 10g. is doing shrooms like smoking weed. the more i smoke it the dumber i get? i don't like ganja BTW. sorry. am infidel.
there is just something about shrooms... lovely ancient organisms. those who are edgomacated know what i mean.
