even if coir was 10$ a brick I would still buy it and do coir. seriously even at 10$ a tub it's dirt fucking cheap compared to the fact that you get more than a few ounces back and coir is stupid fucking easy to prep

Straight up. 3 for 10 isn’t bad at all in a pinch having to go somewhere local. 12 bricks for 20 online has lasted me awhile

Damn I wish I could find that deal. I hate shredding my straw. My landlord takes care of the yard so I don't own a weed eater or mower.
I was able to get 1 5 gal oyster bucket done up today. It's been a very chaotic day.

I spawned 13 monos on Feb 28th. Today is March 9th and one tub has 1 very small pin. My landlord comes over to inspect the place on March 28.
Will these 13 monos be ready to harvest by March 26th so I can dry and hide everything... time will tell...

He's leaving town for 4 months and wants to check that nothing needs repair.... I feel like I could probably just lock the room and say I have some friends stuff stored in there.... He shouldn't need to go into bedrooms... if he's just looking for leaky faucets etc.
But I'd much rather not have to lie and feel extremely paranoid while he's over. Oh yea did I mention he's an ex-cop

Hell yeah, thanks! After I get through this bale I'll try em out. I'll probably stick with getting bales for the most part, they're dirt cheap and I need to keep my expenses consistent.
I'm looking into possibly making this a business, so bags of pelletized straw wouldn't be a very economic route. I'm going to check with some local saw mills too, I might be able to get chips and sawdust on a consistent basis for even cheaper (or maybe even free).
Hopefully I'll be using most of this bale in another month or 2 for a cubensis patch.

This culture sped up growth a bunch, thought I was gonna have time to wait till new plates came to transfer but nope! It wants to go to grain tonight so prepping two quarts of WBS for this LGT plate:

e: I know I know, no tape! Next time they're getting glad wrapped, currently they live in plastic bags

I failed at my spawn bags. Loaded, folded, taped down with micropore tape. Micropore was a bad choice. Made a mess. My real issue is that my bags inflated. They were not sealed. No tyvek sleeve. Running in a converted aa941. Three bags on bottom, trivet on bags, two more bags. Didn't have any thing good to Weigh it down. With only two bags on top, the plates wanted to tilt to the sides.
I thought with them being un-sealed, they wouldn't inflat. I'm trying to not have to run sleeves.

There's a thread somewhere, maybe in gourmet, about running mycobags without the sleeve. All in the fold. Not sure what kind of bags you're using.
Also you could probably just throw another bag maybe in or redistribute. I don't seal my bags or tape them, never heard of taping them before PC cycle, but I do sleeve them and the only time I've had my plates go lopsided and a disaster inside was when I loaded unevenly. Once and only once thank goodness
What do you mean converted aa941? Converted how?

I've had that happen when its not packed full. I do 3 on the bottom and then the next three right on top of those ones but staggered so that they sit over the gaps between bags below. No micropore or trivit. I then put a heavy oven safe dinner plate over the top of those to weight it down.
The openings of the bags face the center of the sterilizer and you tuck in the corners that are against the pot. I use the sleeves but it should work either way.
Its not a failure. Its learning. You got this.

Sterilizer. No more wiggle weight. The bags are .2 micron filter patch bags. I let it cool over night. But upon opening it, everything in side was a mess. The top bags came unfolded most of the way. And the bottom bags were not all vacuumed tight and the folds were messed up.
Thanks crispy. Back in the day I got away with some crude ass bag work. Home made bags with polyfill hanging out it, pc'ed them sealed. But I struggle do anything the "standard" way. I'm going to prep some grain in the morning and go run around town trying to find a big enough plate to put in. I'll make sure and pack it full tomorrow before running it.
