Trying to decide if I'm comfortable with using my old warped presto. Not too bad of a warp, see plenty of posts on here about people continuing to use them and not one story of one exploding as a result. I mean its only 15 psi
Some kind soul on here should do some stress tests. See if they can get a badly warped one to blow Sounds like fun to me

My Tarragon oyster is a little strange, it grows towards 20°C faster than 24°C. I usually get some kind of growth after 12 hours, definitely after 24.

My spawn bags arrive today. .2 micron filter No flowhood, just SAB. Inoculating with lc. In a sterilizer.
Do I pre seal? Seal after in the SAB? Or zip tie?
Do you just pull them out and right to the sealer the way they vacuumed them self shut? Or do you readjust the end of the bag to get a better seal?
And same if you ziptie. Do you just quickly bunch it and tie it, or do you adjust it before you tie it.

Is that with sealing the bag before PC?
No. But I use a sterilizer which pulls the bag closed with a vacuum. I then open next to my SAB and bags go right in. 2 at a time. I then zip tie em up in the SAB and inoculate.

What is recovery for you? Full recolonization of spawn? Or just the appearance of clean mycelium growth throughout?

I think you're more likely to not get enough pressure than too much

Nah I just ran it for like 40 minutes, seals fine and all. The warp really isn't bad, only reason I noticed it was it doesn't sit totally flat on the stove

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't see a reason for it to suddenly become more dangerous. Babysit it a few times tho

The presto I borrowed from a friend was warped and I have a glass stove top. There’s only 1 tiny point of contact and I haven’t had any issues

I think my lid is bent somewhere.

Clarify please. I see this said often. If clean spawn should completely recover in 48 hours then I don’t know how I’ve been growing mushrooms all this time.
After a shake it’s about a week before the spawn is ready to use for me

I should’ve said I don’t shake at 100%, I’m talking about shaking at 30-50%. I haven’t tried doing it to a fully colonized jar and waiting two days. I’m just wondering what recovery means, as in full colonization again or just the white tufts and mycelium showing themselves after 24-48 hours
