I updated my post above.
You can also get 95-99% CaCO3, but that requires CO2 dissolving and only reaches pH 10.
Maximum calcium %, good luck.

Aha. I found the article. http://www.alohamedicinals.com/low-tech-growing.html
I will find the right lime. They are really nice at the store I go to and will probably just take it back since it isn't open especially if it's just to get something else. So not all is wasted.

That's the one, that example is 95.79% calcium hydroxide (converts to other).

I see it as pickling lime or hydrated lime. Like 3-5 bucks a pound. Usually in the canning section :p

No probs dude, if you don't know, you don't know. Calcium so far has proven to be non-toxic to mycelium.
----
I'll also explain the 131% calcium carbonate (CaCO3) equivalent, CCE:
As I mentioned CaCO3 requires CO2 dissolved into the water, and will stop reacting entirely at-around pH 10. So, 100% CaCO3 added to water, will only ever reach pH 10, no matter how much is added.**
The 131%, means it will go 31% above this cap, which is roughly pH 13.1.
----
** The remaining unreacted CaCO3 can react later on.
----
Label checking:
Calcium hydroxide 95% or more. Less than 1% magnesium.
CCE should be above 100% (pH 10).
You can ignore the conversion.

Consider using the "Hi-Yeild" brand, agricultural grade hydrated lime. It can be found at your local garden nursery center for about 6$.

That's CaCO3, its reversed hydrated lime (derived from). Also very expensive. I can get 25kg (55lbs) of 98% CaCO3, for £18 ($25.52), online.
You still want "calcium hydroxide" for a higher pH.

Good for reminding magnesium toxicity.
Still trying to source low mag content in our area. I thik quicklime is a safer alternative or better yet heat some caco3 for calcium oxide for smaller quantities.

Colonizing my mono question: I just noticed my 66 qt monotub was made with two small holes, each one under the handles at the top and about 1/32 inch big. I'm at day 3 of colonizing the coir/verm. Wondering if these holes should be covered. Or does this very little bit of air in and out of these holes really matter.

The shipping is cheap and the price is better than my local store but I can't find a photo of the analysis on hoffman hydrated lime. Does anyone know what's in this? http://www.midlandhardware.com/173237.html

Cleaning and clearing out and donating stuff and setting up a new lab space for my new flow hoods and greenhouse area. I got to get all this other crap out of my house first though. Ya know the usual. Also packing up any stuff I want for when I get a new place that I'm not using at the moment to make more space. Ya know the usual myco shit. It's been hard but my friends have been helping. Well it's more like my friend brought me three under the bed storage containers and a shoe rack and all she had to do is just put some shoes on the rack and sit there and talk to me while I clean to keep me motivated. Then she got cooked a fine meal after. This Sunday is more grunt work though and getting all the stuff to donations. Then it's done! I can set it all up!

Sounds like you've been busy! Other than an oyster grow and doing up some atl7 jars my myco work has been pretty limited. I need to get another case or 2 of jars so I can start more oyster spawn, I think I'm gonna ditch my golden oyster culture since it's pretty weak but my blues have already put out a flush. I might just focus on them since I know my greenhouse can support them.
I need to move soon. I don't have enough room for the cultivation I want to do. I'm aiming for 10lbs of oysters a week, I have the demand for it and then some but space is my limiting factor.
