Thanks for bein patient and writing & usefull link ferather. Sorry for asking complicated q. This will ease on trying different inputs. Very nice link for molweight and usefull custom inputs. 50:1 = colonization. 20:1 = promotes fruiting. 10:1 = humus for soil.
C8H15NO 70:1 = 0.22g of additive will add: 0.22 * 43% = 0.0946g carbon, 0.3 * 6% = 0.0132g nitrogen. 2g of sucrose will add: 2 * 42% = 0.84g carbon. 0.0946 + 0.84 = 0.9346, / 0.0132 = 70:1.
Sorry for populating threads. Bookmarking for excel sheet reference.

Looks about right.
If the external ratio (and uptake) is relatively close to the internal optimum, less carbon waste is produced.
If the external ratio is higher in carbon, lower in nutrients, the mycelium will "spend" and "find". Cells have a maximum storage capacity (fat vs thin), new cells must be made, or waste.
Example: The mycelium expels CO2 to change ratio, it's now lost to air.

maybe the evaporation after people 'spraying' is carrying sporeloads up..onto/inside work.
because even a little bit of sprayed air, even though it settles... also stirs up.. or something.
EDIT!!!

AHH!
ok, after it rains outside, the moisture is evaporating and air currents carry sporeloads up and all over the place.
MAYBE thats happening on a microscale inside SAB. hence some people not spraying and having zero issues..others spray and are still drowning in bad media..
the spraying creates the air currents. no spraying=still air
or ill hop back on the shortbus.. with my near zero SAB contam rate.

Probably also because mushrooms fruit after the rains. Although they do use evaporation to make their spores lift up into air currents so you might be on to something. I read somewhere that mushrooms do โless than nothingโ to prevent evaporation from their surfaces in order to create an updraft.

Mateah said: Hasnยดt anyone ever experimented with placing plates in different temps by now so that growers know this for sure? Iยดm doing this now, Iยดmma move the one plate from 18-25C every other day for a week to either confirm or bust this myth.
Thats a Good idea. Using clean dish.
They are experiencing this now in our bedroom. but multiple times a day and a hotter temp. 80f even ac on then increased suddenly to 88f ac off for 8 hours during daytime then back to 80f during evening bedtime.
I feel there is a bacteria riding to it. Coupled with temp swings. Giving bacteria a boost during hotter temp.
I think im gonna ditch that 3rd plate? That growth is scary. Hope there is usefull cubes in the 1st and 2nd plates.
There actually is someone who tested this, but the other way around. They kept plates at a constant temp, and I think even lighting, the whole time the plates were growing out, and they still showed the rings. Supposedly the temp and light hypotheses are just plain wrong. It's just something mycelium does, and we don't know exactly why. Maybe because the only constant in the universe is change. We aren't always as productive, and still wouldn't be if light and temp was constant.
Maybe it's a circadian rhythm thing, which doesn't really NEED a light/temp difference, or can go a good while without it, or maybe even indefinitely.
We don't know shit.
And LOL @ Kys
