Only if your mycelium can either disassemble the mold, or, outrun-overrun the mold. It works by cutting off the growth of the mold, by populating everything.
The mold will be producing enzymes, that the oyster will use. It's a case of the strongest winning on one media.

Yeah I think I'm gonna get one. There are a few other pieces of mail I'm waiting on that should've made it here by now.
If someone did take it they're gonna be pretty disappointed, petri dishes aren't much of a score lol

Haha, imagine what they think when they open a package and find it's Petri dishes or a ms spore syring. In their mind you immediately become the mad scientist doing crazy experiments in your garage (albeit true)!

I can see the original plate is contaminated, and the transfer to T-Gel looks clean.

Good luck, looks good so far.
Sorry for the late reply brother. Its the 1.2g-tea with 0.7g-starch added per 100ml water.
Its good to hear your gaining more data. Wondering if C8H15NO6 can be used to supplement nitrogen&carbon for cellulose or agar etc. I find it very bacterial and fungal resistant. Im sure oyster especially cordyceps can break and utilize this polysachride. Love to see how it goes for cubes. I have plenty laying around for comparisons if time permits..

People who keep double posting to get their post count up, it's getting annoying and making this thread 2x as long as it could be. Not naming anyone, they know who they are.
Attention all noobs, you can edit your post to add stuff you might have forgot instead of making a second post.

Yea I care about that too. I meant the double posts. Sometimes it's better to make another post so context doesn't get fucked up in the long run.
I spawned a hpoo tub the other day and it looks a little dry. Its probably not but I feel like an early casing will help but all I have is verm. Should I buy a bag of loose coir or is peat a cut above? What makes peat a real casing and coir a top layer?

If it's your thread do what you like as far as I know, especially if you are continuing it for positive reasons.

Lovely, that's actually bang on for general use (works for most mycelium), while still inhibitory to external bacteria. I'm doing 1.2g tea and 0.6g sucrose for general use, works on lignicolous and non-lignicolous mycelium.

Sorry I have no experience with C8-H15-N-O6, if it dissolves in water, then agar would be suggested for testing. If you where to use it 100% as both carbon-nitrogen, the ratio is very off: 43% C to 6% N, 7:1, bad.
You will need to use plain sucrose (99.9% sugar, carbon source) and the additive as both.
Sucrose: (C12-H22-O11), 42% carbon (by weight), no nitrogen. Additive: (C8-H15-N-O6), 43% carbon, 6% nitrogen.
The maths:
Molecular Weight Calculator
0.3g of additive will add: 0.3 - 57% = 0.13g carbon, 0.3 - 94% = 0.018g nitrogen. 2g of sucrose will add: 2 - 58% = 0.84g carbon.
0.13 + 0.84 = 0.97, / 0.018 = 54:1.

Wouldn't hurt to early case. Peat is a cut above coir. Both will work, but peat is non nutritious, thus the mycelium will be discouraged to colonize it. That's why peat moss isn't used as a bulk substrate material, but coir is.
