how cool, i really enjoyed reading those threads, thanks for sharing greg
i love reading the big reference books on fungi in libraries, and i always find myself staring at the pictures and diagrams of the stinkhorns, they are just so unlike anything else. so cool i dont thin i have ever seen one in the wild
BTW what the hell has been going on in mush cult lately? SOOOOO many people just completely ignoring the rules, double triple posting to talk down to people answering their questions, talking about guns and shit, people talking about selling like its nothing, asking what they should charge and shit... its been a shit show
its like a full time job for inoc, bodhi, and pasty to correct the nonsense, you can tell when they are on or not by how much bs goes uncorrected :/

Seems like a bunch of people using the site as social media, not being serious about growing enough to actually apply themselves so they want hand holding over misting their five cakes

At what point should I consider incubating? Temperatures are dropping and even with the heater on the room I use is chilly.
also, i've heard of putting socks on the grain jars to warm them, is this an actual thing?

Colder than 60 I would try to raise temp tho i prefer to warm the room not the jars.

So I made a batch of dog food agar and hopefully you guys know if it's fucked or not.
What I normally do with good results is mix dry ingredients, add water, stir or even wisk until all clumps of dry ingredients are gone, then bring to a boil, and finally pour into no-pour containers while stirring before pouring each plate.
This time I did everything the same except I forgot to stir the sediment in before pouring into each container.
Usually all the sediment is evenly distributed into all the plates but this time all the sediment stayed in the bottom of the pouring pitcher.
I ended up not using the very last of it as it was almost pure sediment.
As for the other plates, they all were much clearer than I'm used to with dog food agar and had more of the appearance of MEA.
Did I lose too many nutes by not stirring in the sediment or were most the nutes already suspended in the liquid during the boiling process?
I've read of people straining out the sediments in DFA but I'm not sure what process was done before (simmer, boil, soak, etc) in order to get the nutes out of the sediments.
Would love to use a couple of those plates today if anyone has some reassurance for me.

you'll likely be fine. This happens to me a lot when I use potato flakes for my agar. I still pour as far down the bottle as I can, but the clear stuff that has less nutrition should still work fine for you.

I was genuinely curious, I kept seeing it from several people and it was making feel like I was going crazy I assume it's just one of those monotube/Damion 50/50 things, but ya never know...
Sometimes I see it from people who otherwise seem like they know what they're doing...

they properly weren't thinking or worrying about it till the grammar nazis popped up and alerted the known world. If they were like me they might have slight dyslexicia and when tired just get by.
Id like to say stop acting like a nobhead and go help brothers out but that might be offensive so I offer ........... Whatever floats your boat mate.

Dude, I wasn't singling anyone out. (You're not the first person I've seen say it) If anything I thought it was funny. Lets not fight please.
