The really expensive part depends on your sourcing abilities. Casing isn't necessary.
It's a fine bulk sub on it's own. It's a bitch to work with imo though.

It's not so much that it's hard to work with, it's that it sticks to everything and keeps dividing itself up into smaller pieces, so instead of ever actually cleaning it up properly, you always just keep spreading out more tiny bits n pieces that you keep finding everywhere. And opening a bag with the static electricity can make it shoot out sometimes.
and, thank you!

I over filled some of my jars and i am going to g2g them. What would be the bestway to empty some out? Just dump a little out or flame sterilize a spoon and scoop out some?

If you're going to sterilize a spoon, I'd just boil sterilize it. Boiling clean equipment for 10 mins will surface sterilize it.

To G2G or to roll with the 6 jars I have...? First time cultivator: I started with a MS syringe of Creepers dropped on Agar, made 5 transfers, ended up with 6 clean healthy looking mycelium growths. I tiger dropped each of the agar plates into their respective rye jars. I have about 90% colonization on all jars at this point and they look clean. Once at 100% should I take one of the jars to G2G Or use the 6 jars (if they smell good) as spawn to bulk? Im pretty sure I did not get an isolate on agar, but I guess I did limit the genetics somewhat from all the transfers and my thought is G2G will keep the mycelium limited. Or I wanted to see if anyone sees an advantage or disadvantage to using 6 rye jars of 6 different myecilium growths. Many have said if you start with MS get it to fruit then worry about genetics and clone. Thoughts?

But do you recommend using the spoon over just dumping some out

Depends. Either way, properly prepare for it and if the grains are nice and loose, I'd say dump some out. If the grains clump at all, I'd say spoon.

So I found one of those magnetic plates for holding bolts.

Popped the magnet off the back.

Just so happens the magnet is slightly smaller then the ring but still holds onto it exceptionally well.
This is with a oster blade from a blender. The magnet holds the blade and ring easily for one piece metal lid

Works on lids too which are considerably lighter.

Same exact idea I had today too. Crazy. Do you guys silicone the gasket to the oster blade?

I threw the gasket out they never would seal right with it on. as long as you put it on tight and for only a few second bursts i never get leaks.

Damn, I always get leaks without the gasket. My original broke and I bought replacements, but couldn't ever get them siliconed on level enough without off-setting the ring, causing leaks. I haven't done LI's in so long because of it.

i'd think that would leak.
I resorted to modding mine because I didn't like the gasket/ring getting in the way or not sealing properly. I use wide mouth because I blend cakes with them but I think this could work with regular mouth lids as well.

edit actually idk if the oster blender's metal base would fit into the regular mouth lid like the wide mouth...
I found some one piece metal lids that I recently received that have a permanent silicon seal and would probably be perfect for modding with an oster blade by cutting a hole just big enough to slip the blade through then glue into place.
these lids look like they'll last forever as far as the seal althought the red seal on the canning lids has held up with no leaks for nearly a 100 pc cycles. there is definitely cracking and signs of thinning that I'm worried will fail soon.
here is an example of the one piece lids I was referring to. sorry for the shitty pic but you get the idea. They have a heavy duty silicon seal that hasn't deformed so far after 3 pc cycles .

I have one of them from a quart of moonshine.
I just did it with no leaks

My Oster won't fit a wide mouth, only regular. I have like 4 extra blades so maybe I'll have to try gluing one to a regular mouth lid or something.

I use regular mouth jars. Whenever inused the seal it offset the top and never wanted to screw on flush. Like it needed a few more threads or something. Just putting it on with the hulk smash works for me no leaks so far. I only blend plates so may be diff with a cake

My Oster blades didn't fit the jar type I use most, and we don't even have two part lids so there's not really any other option than siliconing it to a lid with a hole for the attachment piece.
