When I was in school I remember hearing the urban legend about letting an orange peel mold and then eat it. I NEVER tried it! Someone I knew claimed they did and it caused them to trip balls. I didn't put much faith into it.

I have wondered about stuffing a fresh loaf of bread with some grain spawn. Like could I grow shrooms off of a loaf of French bread? lol. That would be some cool ass shit to see.

I am thinking if the spawn is clean and I hollow out a cavity in the middle and stuff with clean grains. It would just be to cool to see shrooms sprouting up off of a loaf of bread, I might just have to give it a shot for fun.

Dude seriously don't open that jar with the yellow aspergillus. Thats likely the one that is actually toxic.
http://www.plantpath.cornell.edu/labs/milgroom/Research_aflatoxin.html The picture doesn't work here but its on the page
Even if you autoclave it im not sure if it destroys the toxins

O I know it would be a taboo. But I can use one jar for the fun. I am thinking I would want the bread like freshly cooled, so to buy as much time as possible for the mycelium to grow. It will have a VERY high chance of failure, but hey could be fun.

I opened it and it's been sitting there for weeks. I didn't open a moldy jar. I opened a grain jar and it molded

Maybe stick it in an oven bag once it's done, then let it cool inside the oven to give it a "pasteurization", then open back up once completely cool (room temp), but only in front of the hood. That way there shouldn't be any spores to begin with. Then dig a hole in the bread with a sterilized spoon, fill the hole back up with grain, back in the oven bag, and wait it out.
Wouldn't be that surprised if it worked just fine like that... Gives new meaning to the term "holy bread"...
