Is there any reason I can't throw a casing on a tub that has been fruiting for about two weeks?

It's my first time doing a mini mono in this thing and I thought I could get away without a casing. Turns out, not really. It's been doing OK since I have been misting it twice a day, but now I have to leave for 4 days in about a week and have no one to look after it.

Can I just pick everything that is not a pin and put about 1/4" of sterilized CVG on it before I leave?

Is there another option to help keep it from drying out at this point?

Mist more.  Tighten poly.

So am I trying to get the overall moisture content of the sub up so it can survive 4 days without misting?

Oh, missed that part.  Uh... well, you do want to give a real good mist before you go but, not really to the point you're changing moisture content.  Moisture content should already be okay if you've been tending to it normally.  Tighten the poly though for sure.  Might take a little hit in the FAE department but at least it won't dry the fuck out.

Thanks for the response. I don't think I can get the bottom any tighter, I blocked of the vent in that room too.

I may try taping half the bottom holes with duct tape and tightening the top holes pretty tight.

It'll probably be fine unless you live in extreme climate..  Hell, even if.

Leave the duct tape. Just stuff all the holes tight as you can, and do as Inoc said. Do you have mushrooms or is it colonizing still?
