I need help with my fruiting conditions...
This tray was in a sgfc for a week and a half and started getting kinda matted on top. So I followed josex's advice and tossed some verm on top and now there's knots all over the bottom. And here I was thinking id get a nice flush without having to birth this tray...

My negative comments (thanks for the video):
Hairy arms and no sleeves, also can't you use a clean turkey baster to suck up your liquid inoculant. Having the jar open, with your arms pushing in-out looks risky to me, given the minor air flow.
Also I keep thinking, eventually you will knock the jar and fluids will fly everywhere. You could try a "PP5" wash bottle (example), or soap dispenser (example).
Examples are for illustration purposes, randomly picked.

thats how i always work. hairy ass arms. sometimes i pour dishes without gloves. have you used a SAB?
i might drop that jar one day, bfd not worth adding a vector to correct a problem that hasnt/rarely would happen. the real flaws i observed were banging the box with my arms. that will cause a problem way before my hairy arms.

Typ what's your surface conditions like.
Feat
Those wash bottle don't have a good seal I have one. I fill with iso and wrap suran wrap around the base. That soap dispenser is a good idea. I'm going to be knocking some lc in media bottles no filter. Should be able to shake the shit out of it

No probs, wasn't being mean, just pointing out what I see. I use liquids rarely, and use syringes when I do.

truth is i need a much larger SAB. inoculating 10 jars inside 80quarts of space is tricky.

Get a 200qt I can fit 20 jars in that noooo problem. Plus you can stack two quarts on top of each other and Still have 2 inches head room.

Here is an old design, it's a flowbox, although it's been suggested to use flaps and not holes. I got the idea from a similar lab design, but the flow was set to exhaust fumes.
Technically it doesn't need to be fully sealed, but better if it where.

SAB's are cheaper, and easier to replace, so no worries it's just an on paper design.

- I would wipe my hands down again after leaving the SAB before coming in again. - I think each lid should be popped ahead of time if you're going to keep the lid off the LC the whole time. Otherwise cap the liquid each time. - If re-using the liquid, I'd never set my lid down on the ground. - Relax. My apologies if there's something other than nerves causing it, but you're shaking so much. Deep breaths.
Overall it's great though, those are just some things I noticed. Regarding keeping the lid capped, I pour liquids the same way I do G2G, like this:
thanks dood.
-my hands are shiny and dripping wet with iso. applying more seems like overkill. but i still should out of practice. -i usually pop each lid i just forgot a few when i was whipping them down. i made a video of that too but its boring as f. -of course. normally i would but i wanted to use it all so i just tossed it where ever. -shakes are from 10yrs of hard drinking plus it runs in the family. my mom has tremors too. have to work quick like that.
i guess you havent seen the first video i posted. i was shaking so bad it was embarrassing beyond belief. but all the work was sterile.

Do you have tremors outside of this? Like with other fine motor movement things? I have essential tremor and it gets worse under pressure, I shake in my sab too.
Edit: runs in your family, you have essential tremor I bet

Just kind of curious. I have some grains I put in the jar three weeks ago. I forgot to PC them and they have been sitting there and haven't grown anything. Like they look like fresh grains still. I opened a jar and they smell pleasant like white wine. Would it be bad to PC them and use them still?
