30 psi won't even tickle a Presto, let alone an AA submarine. I don't know how much pressure a Presto or AA could withstand if we took off the safety plugs and sealed the holes with melted aluminium (hypothetical case). But my guess would be many times over the pressures we reach for myco purposes.
I think I read here IIRC that an AA can take ~80 psi, but I think that's absurd, pretty sure it can take way more.

I'm not worried about the fucker blowing up I'm worried about the over pressurization plug blowing out. Really it's not a huge deal since you increase your psi so much could you technically reduce time as well?

Sorry, I was replying to TMH. idk about the Presto rubber plug. Bod runs his Presto at very high psi as well, maybe he can tell you.
All I know is that if the rubber plug ever blows out on me Imma put it back on and cover it with a huge blob of silicone. It's not likely that will ever happen if you're careful and have an idea how much pressure the rubber plug can ACTUALLY take. The AA manufacturer says the black rubber plug is rated at 25 psi, can't remember correctly. Obviously bullshit.

I actually have some WBS that I am planning on running today. I gave those jars a shake just for the hell of it and they were fully recovered in 8 hours. I am going to do a shoebox just to see what happens.

One day I'll force it too blow out so I have an idea of what pressure it will blow if at all.
Also not related to PC talk.
3 days since I aspirated an lc through a "ship thing" both the syringe and lc are still crystal clear. Putting to agar in a few days so if anything is inside it will have time to expand throughout the lc. Pretty exciting to me.
I have 5 other lcs that I haven't aspirated one is colonizing. All look good visually still crystal clear no floating bs that shouldn't be there. Besides mycelium of course.
If I can figure something else out with these I may not even have to open the lid to inoculate. Depends on if its easier to open or keep closed. I'll probably just continue to lift the lid. So fking ez.

I agree with open air, it's miles better for the mycelium, I'll summarize with "it's richer with high oxygen". You can look at my signature images for that proof, try and get Golds that yellow in low O2.
There is also secondary's such as light, the waves can convert materials. Mycelium are not plants, but they are also not stupid either.
They fully take advantage of their environment.

Some research notes:
----
Paper pellets + sucrose (complex carbon + soluble carbon): Low nutrient, under fed growth, took ages to colonize.

----
Paper pellets + WL-Tek (complex carbon + soluble nutrients): Well fed from day 1, high efficiency and population.

----
No grain tests, complex carbon:
[Recipe A]: WL-Tek @ 1.2% nitrogen, 25g dry paper, + 1.2g Sucrose. [Recipe B]: WL-Tek @ 1.2% nitrogen, 25g dry paper.
Recipe A, colonized in 2-3 weeks, with well fed growth after 20 hours. Recipe B, colonized in 4 months, with well fed growth after 4 weeks.
----
pH 7.2, room temperature 22°C.
----
125g dry WL-Tek @ 1.2% nitrogen + 6g sucrose.

No grain, no starch, paper > paper.

Van just bring it up to dangerous pressure levels and wack it with a hammer. If it doesn't kill you it's safe . I was sketched out adding 3 quarters to my rocker I understand the fear

Not the first time someone has suggested that
I already have 3 quarters on It. I was thinking about adding 2 more on actually lol. I just don't wanna deal with that plug blowing.

I have two quarters on mine and it hovers around 18-19. My 23qt takes about ten minutes longer than my 16qt to get to pressure but it wastes less water

Today is Tamp day! I'm gonna knock up some plates I made last week. It was either stones or AA+, but I already have cubes going. I'm trying to time my projects so I'll have steady myco work for months to come. My PE jars are just about ready to shake, and I'm gonna start a full-blown log soon.

I'm sure my gauge is just really garbage. I'll check on it later.

I don't feel like getting aluminum foil. Will this work? I duct taped the vents on some of my lids and stacked them over the tyvek vents. Here's some pics
Will they be good in the pc? They're going to be for wbs to wbs transfers. I will use a sab. This will actually be my first time doing g2g transfers! Thanks.

Most gauges aren't completely accurate because they are calibrated at the factory which may be at a different elevation than you are currently at. My AA gauge reads about 13.5 PSI when the weight starts rocking.
Trust your weight. It won't rock at anything less than 15psi. The gauge is just for ease of mind.

the foil.. keeps moisture off the filters. you have.. no fitlers? not sure what the duct tape will do. but the tape residue will melt and get all over the inside of the PC. i wouldnt ever, ever do that.
when i dont have foil i flip a plate upside down and cover the jars. then remove the jars asap and dry the lids off quickly. wtf is the tape supposed to accomplish?

All of my lids have breather holes in them. The tape covers them up. I'm just going to have to go get some foil.

I understand where you're coming from. You think you got all the supplies, and you're ready to go. However, one item is nowhere to be found, and the thought of going to the store to get it when everything's set is painful.
Yes, I understand laziness all too well.
