I want to know if it is better to soak your spawn (in the jar after breaking up) prior to spawning a tub or not.

You know, that was something I stopped doing, but plan to start doing again. It could be I was preparing my coir a bit dry, it could be I was prepping my grain a bit dry, but my flushes were better with the grain dunk.
A lot of vets don't do this. But I think if your grain is on the dry side and/or took a bit longer to colonize, the grain dunk can be very beneficial. Only 15-20 minutes or so seems to do it.

pan cyans do like warmer climates, and seem to do better with at least straw, if not hpoo in the substrate. I'm still green with pans, just testing those waters out now.
FWIU pans need a good amount of hydration in the sub, and good airflow. Just like the penis varieties. But again, I just started messing with pans.

50s in your growroom? If you can keep it around room temperature, the pans should be fine. My room will likely be in the 60s when I get them fruiting…

No 50's outside my room should stay in the 60's but we have a gas furnace and propane is expensive, we have to get it delivered.... so keeping it mid 70's would be a bitch but end of november it will be snowing for sure with 15 degree windchills fuck that i hate the cold haha

I bet that'd still work, man. Honestly, like I don't know much about pans, but I bet they'd just grow a bit slower and you'd have to watch their other conditions. I'm sure it'd be fine.

yeah, agar work has been coming out much nicer than during the summer. I'm finishing up my summer grows, which weren't anything to brag about. I'm feeling good about this coming winter. I think I should be able to bang out some pretty good shit

Damn that would be so nice. I have an 8 quart that holds 3 jars at a time right now. Usually I only do 6 a run but I have 2 clean plates of Albino APEless (AA+ MS) that I want to transfer to 12 jars before I leave town for a week. That's a 6 hour ordeal... at least
Also currently having a patience issue with one of my tubs. Same clone as my last tub but the only difference is I put a verm casing on after fruiting. It's about a week late in the pinning dept. Never casing again

Glad it's here. I'd rather use this as my own personal ask a question thread than start a bunch of new ones.
What's the best way to advance with agar? I don't know, I think most start with prints/MS to agar yeah? Then what? Do a run of grains with your first clean plate, clone the best fruit, then keep it going? Or do you take samples from every single sector, grow all the sectors to grains, keep whichever sector performed best and keep growing it out?
What's the method to the madness? I'm tired of pussy farting around. I swear on everything I have,I do not sell my mushrooms. I have a hard time finding friends to even give them to.
However I am getting tired of risking my freedom for very low yields. I'm ready to grow end to end full tubs like you important people do.

Whoa now don't give up on casing right away!!
Verm alone sucks as a casing layer, you need peat or coir to really get the full benefits of casing. I've gotten fat crops with the casing at spawn method.
Spawn to harvest in 15 days is my best so far which beats my "let colonize to 100 and fruit" record by like 7 days at least.

I hate cleaning verm off stems, I don't overly clean up coir since I have less problem eating it. I have some burlap sacks I was thinking of cutting up and using as a top layer on a casing so the shrooms would come off very cleanly. I have read of people using covers meant for plants in the frost too, think it was Agar saying it should work.

I am doing basically just what you stated but didn't attempt to take sectors from the MS plates - I did exactly what you did but with clean clone cultures...
Now I have 2 'clone cultures' that are showing to provide me with good yield and potency.
I have recently slanted them and created 60 quart jars of grain from 6-7 pint masters. The master jars were derived from wedges that came from one of those plates that was transferred from the clone tissue.
I am moving on to another couple clone cultures now and will hope to see an even vigorous culture with better potency. We shall see!
I believe you are right on the money with your idea.
However, I only used MS on agar to clean up a culture so I could get some clean grain spawn-then I sort of left it like my High School Prom date left me..... I ain't gots no time for isolations right now... Jesus, it takes too long...
My mind is on clones and getting a good solid culture to slant.
I have a slant now that gives me solid yields and good potency. I average about 1.6 oz dry off of each quart first flush with my current culture...but I know I can improve on it, as I often see people cranking out 10 oz dry flushes off their tubs. (Lookin at you Pasty, Cron, Inoc, etc...you bastards...)
