I was teaching my girlfriend. For me it was really easy, she didn't try questioning why things work and I usually only had to show her something once or twice. For the most part she helped set up the sab, mix up brf, and maintain the sgfc. I let her do some inoculations, cloning, and transfers, but she liked sticking with misting and fanning cakes.

If it wasn’t for my woman I wouldn’t be able to grow at the pace I like to lol I rarely have ~4 hours to devote to prepping grains and running the PC unless I want to cut into my sleep (aint happenin) so i taught her how to prep wbs/oats and how to fire up the PC.
I get her to wash out my jars and buckets half the time too she’s supportive. getting her over the initial “omg growing drugs” phase was the only part I thought twice about but she quickly saw how much of a productive and therapeutic hobby that mush cult is for me

Same hurdle. Once we got past the tubs full of felonys part we were good. Shes not big on washing jars but she helps where she can.

I'm teaching the girl I hang with how to do stuff. She gets stressed inside the SAB, but I'm teaching her how to be calm. She's 3/3 on G2G, and that includes nervously knocking off the grain master lid. I had her practicing for 20 minutes outside of the SAB with dried oats. She had trouble with my method of holding both grain master and receiving lids with one hand. Luckily enough, I told her ahead of time that sterility isn't the main factor in SAB work, it's still air, thus: you can do G2G without the lid. So when she dropped it, I told her it's no big deal and to continue on. She did 3 Lion's Mane transfers and both bags are nearing fruiting conditions. Next stop, agar work.

Is anyone interested in discussing, the fact, mycelium use both inorganic and organically assembled inorganic materials? I would like to talk about the fact that mycelium utilize any type of soluble (or potentially) that it can utilize.
However I agree "enzymes" target organically assembled inorganic materials, such as plants. We know enzymes decay and-or convert materials into solubles, in order to feed.
I can also prove mycelium utilize inorganically made soluble nutrients. Example: CaCO3 (insoluble) into Ca(HCO3)2 (soluble).
CaCO3 is inorganic and so is the reaction.

Material > enzymes > solubles > absorb | A material > a reaction > soluble > absorb.
When I say absorb, you can replace that with, it gets food and grows.

I think someday I may get into more advanced experiments Ferather. I'm just starting to try and figure out how to grow wild species on agar and I'm developing an interest in more oddball edibles that don't have much information about their cultivation. I want to get soil microbes for my L. Nuda and see if that makes a difference in cultivation. They eat soil bacterium by puncturing bacterium with their hyhae and sucking the nutrients out. This fascinates me.

When you put swabs to agar do you just swipe the middle, just rub it in the middle, or drag it in zig zags across the whole plate?

Oh I actually came here to ask a question. Can I skip the grain part when it comes to LC syringes and just directly inoculate the sterile sawdust blocks with the turkey tail culture?

Nothing visibly happening in my Reishi jars yet (3 and 2 days old roughly), but I know the culture's good, the plate I squirted some on a few days ago has healthy growth from every speck of myc that went onto it... Patience is tough.

As long as,the sawdust is supplemented grain spawn is unneccesary
