"Herbal Supplements" are not regulated the way food is. You can only sell dry mushrooms as food if they were prepped in a licensed kitchen. If the same mushrooms are dried, powdered and capped you can sell them as supplements, and prep them pretty much however you want. You do need to be careful about the wording on the label though.

Here's the FDA recommendations for production of dietary supplements- https://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceRegulation/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation/ucm238182.htm
But those are just suggestions, not laws.
"FDA's guidance documents, do not establish legally enforceable responsibilities. Instead, guidances describe the Agency's current thinking on a topic and should be viewed only as recommendations, unless specific regulatory or statutory requirements are cited."

I was sterilizing canary seed tonight when I took the pic. Decided to give it a go out of curiosity. Did Fooman's prep and when the pc cycle finished all the grains were lumped together as a single block, not even burst grains.
I checked wiki about this seed, turns out it has lots of resines, so I guess that was it. It would also explain the beautiful shine the husks have.
Back to my dirty wheat I guess, the only option I have in my area

Before tossing it's definitely worth it to dunk it for 4 hours and try again

You should do this and get a new project going--if you don't have one already.

Is the pink on the agar in my master jar a sign of contamination? What about the dusty jar? This is them after 7 days.
Also here are some pics of my setup.

Are you flaming inside your SAB? Or did you just throw that in there for storage?

I flame in the sab. Hence the duct tape squares on the clear wrap on top lol. If I flame too long, the heat will eat holes in the wrap.

Don't flame inside a sab You create heat currents defeating the purpose of still air

The blade or syringe will still be red hot when you put it through the holes.

The pinkish color you are seeing is just the agar being eaten
