It's impossible to explain it here just with words, I would need pics. Yes, there's physical contact, but the parts that get in contact are sterile and even if they weren't the LC that gets in the syringe does not touch anything. The lid build and method have their drawbacks and small risks of course but way less than the traditional ways of aspirating LC.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Before you attach the syringe to the 'port' do you sanitize the port? Its been sitting out for several weeks while the jar colonizes, so you wouldn't expect the port to be sterile, right?

Its not really a ship. Bad terminology. Idk exactly what to call it.
If it works I'll post results and do a write up.
Here's the pic again Munch

Lol sorry Munch, I should'of shut the fuck up in the first place if I can't explain it right in the moment, I got overexcited and had to spew it out, like a fucking kid lol I really want to share it in the future, but not what I'm doing right now.
No, there's no port or anything like that, it's different, and it remains sterile right until the moment you aspirate.

injection port is fine. i was just asking if you wipe that with alcohol before attaching it, or between syringes.
no worries josex. you kinda just sent my head spinning. like a riddle ya know. how do you grow myc in a jar without opening it or having a port? i was genuinely confused. i look forward to your post in the future.

I believe it would be counterintuitive to wipe between syringes. I can swap them out faster than I can open and close a lid.
That thing gets pced it's inside a cap which may or may not wrapped in micropore tape. Depending. I have 2 controls sitting out one with mp and one without.
If they go bad oh well it was a cool thought but if it works that would be even cooler
I'm also doing a terrible job with words tonight. I tried to go to bed 5 hours ago

In Pasty's EZLC, you squirt sterile water into the jar and let it hang out. Why not leave the syringe in the SHIP until aspiration time?

How long does it take to boil out chlorine? I think my recently failed tub can be attributed to a high chlorine content.
My town has been under a boil notice for the entire month (I just found out yesterday...) and I'm thinking my tub stalled out because of the higher concentration of chlorine in the water (you can smell it it's so strong at this point). I used Damion5050's coir tek so the water was only brought to a boil, and it spent the rest of the time in a bucket where remaining chlorine could condensate. I don't know how mycelium reacts to chlorine, but I can't imagine it liking it. All I know is my tub stalled out after 4 days, I had assumed the spawn was the issue, but current events at work have lead me to suspect otherwise.
I'm also unsure of the fluoride and heavy metal content of my water or whether it's actually chlorine and not chloramine used to treat our water. I live in a small town so I'm assuming it's chlorine. Thinking I should probably get a water test kit.

You can buy dechlorinator from a pet shop or any place that sells fish, even some bigger walmarts. Typically called start safe or something along those lines. A little bottle thats a few bucks can treat several gallons of water and it only takes an hour or two to work. Chloramines are traditionally used in flushing out municipal water systems, not chlorine itself

You're probably right bod, but I'm not eliminating it as a possibility, even if it's slim. I'll stick to the spawn being the primary cause.
