Yay! Awaiting pictures.  I just made my first glad mini agar plates. The same color as my healthy mountain dew.  Electric blue.

I had 2 agar dishes that looked great. I put them in the fridge a month ago and recently looked at them, and they were covered in gray/blue mold...WTF... I have no idea what caused this.

--------------------
I have picked wild mushrooms for over 30 yrs. I built a grow room for mushrooms in the early 90's and grew oyster mushrooms with great success for the first attempt. Out of 20 bales i only had to throw 3 out because of contamination. Now i want to grow again. I currently have King and Blue oyster mushrooms in the GC. The mycelium is going nuts. It is growing through the cardboard boxes i used. I also have some in plastic bins and one container growing on cardboard. In two containers the mycelium is like cotton and over an inch tall....

sounds like a filter fail to me, or improper lid seal. Unless you didn't sterilize properly. Pastyplates should be able to sit around forever and stay clean. I have some in a tote that have been there for 2 months or more, and still look clean.

Nobody beat me

Amidogen is right. It seems scary and intimidating. I remember feeling like that making MS syringes. But those weren't a big deal neither is agar. just keep at it.

That KSSS was the lowest effort couple of inocs and transfers I've ever done haha.
It's easy once you get the hang of it.

and honestly, pour agar is the easiest way to use agar...
