Does using whole wheat flour in PF-Tek effect yeild? I'm getting these small shrooms off of 4 cakes that I used whole wheat flour in. It's only the first flush but they are tiny, .3g dry for the BIGGEST one.

IIRC, he moves way too quickly and slams the jar lids down on top of the jars frequently. He's also clanking shit together, accidentally dumping way too much in, etc. I would just make more controlled moves.

Quick agar question. I got this stuff:

I've never bought agar powder before. Is this stuff okay? It was like $2 and change for a box of 170g. Looking on the nutrition, it looks like it has 11g carbs/sugar per serving. I thought agar was supposed to be non-nutritious. Thots?

K. I guess I'll have to make jello (shots) with it and go back to the Asian store. I was in a hurry at the time.
Doing the calculations, about 150g of that 170 is sugar. Swing and a miss.

You don't want any sugar in your agar packets. The bar agar is the one I'd always used, but I can't find it locally anymore. Also with an unknown brand from Asia, do a small batch first because lots of those countries won't list all ingredients on there.

You can score 5 of the telephone brand(25g each) agar on eBay for $9.29 shipped to you. Not a bad price for over a QP of agar powder.

Yes, its pH 8.8, filled with CaCO3, which converts to calcium bicarbonate when CO2 dissolves into the water, increasing the pH further. You can easily disassemble the setup at any point to change the water, if needed. I mist the lid and surface, when dry, repeat.
The water also lowered the temperature, however it's room dependent and not enough for cold kings to do well.

Doesn't happen, the grain should be saturated in water than allows for double the cook time, no hot spots. It can boil dry, then burn the grain, but will never explode, even with the vents closed, thankfully.
Cheap but effective, however you might prefer the professional versions.
It effectively replaces and works like a hob (boils dry), but smaller.

Ended up going back to the store. Turns out the Telephone brand was right below the stuff I bought. Sucks to be in a hurry sometimes. Got 3 packs = 75g for less than $5.

For fucks sake. I was so close. This bin was doing great and then it got pin mold. I think I read something about pin mold not liking a lot of FAE. Is that true? Maybe I could put it outside and it might recover. Sigh. Perhaps it was too moist. The substrate doesn't seem to be that moist though.

TBC, I was having a huge mold problem up until recently. A member recommended me getting one of these. I was a little skeptical at first but now that I've been using for over a week I'm impressed by how well it works. The other day I opened a plate to take a pic in open air (not fully colonized at all) in the same room I have the contraption and after 5 days there are no signs of mold yet. If I had done that before having the ionizer the plate would've been food for mold in no time.
A sab and one of these things and I'd be surprised if you ever saw mold.
Anyway, it's unlikely that the pin mold was in the grains, sounds like it took a foothold on the sub probably due to bacterial spawn. But this thing can def help you with the mold issues you've been having. It's not like owning a flowhood, but it's way cheaper and very effective.
