Hello, I have a question regarding SGFC and perlite.
I could only get a hold of some rather fine perlite so I was wondering: could I apply a thin layer of GEOLITE to the bottom thus preventing the perlite from dropping out.
Will this work or does it mess up with the FCs functionality?
Much appreciated!

Just dump it in it should clog i think an put the some that fell through back in.
I have no idea what geolite is though.

I've had truffles a few times, along with the zesty taste, there was some sort of carrot hint to it.
----
Cubensis var. Burma, dry spores onto WL-Tek:
My cubensis has accelerated, here is yesterdays image, and now overnight. The 14% sugar solution, is being spent rapidly as expected.

Heat production on site too.

No contamination.
----
Extra images, 48 hours total from the ~14% sucrose sugar drop. Visible decay on the paper attached to the wood peg.
Very fuzzy, everything is disappearing.

----
Here is a previous oyster test transfer. Enriched + high O2 ratio.

It's also called hydroton, leca and expanded clay. However I have a picture of the perlite:

As I might be highly exaggerating, it does seem much more fine than I see in other peoples SGFCs. I realize it's not fine as in powder, but I just need some reassurance

You'll be fine, if anything that perlite will work better. More surface area=more water retention, depending on your house you shouldn't have to rehydrate your perlite as often as I do.

For some reason mature spores in some species IMO do have an icky taste. For instance I can't stand wine caps after they open up.

Gypsum doesn't really dissolve well in water. If a funny one it's becomes less soluble as the water gets heated.

Does that mean that there is no point in adding gypsum to water when soaking the grains? I don't do it i'm just wondering about the procedure.

So I have a bag of worm castings and verm, but no pet store nearby. Is there anyway to use the worm shit as a sub? I know I neeed a way to keep it moisturized. Just not sure if verm alone would help. Can anyone please give me some pointers?

As grit, but not much else, there's enough calcium and sulphur in grains already, and gypsum does not change pH much if at all. If you have a calcium and-or sulphur deficiency in a substrate then sure, else you should use lime for pH work.
Grit for grains will help it breakup easier, and be less clumped together. I personally don't use it.

I updated my post, with 48 hour images. They can be compared to 48 hours after initial transfer.
----
Export:
----
Spores (Primary decomposers):
There are different materials in plants, such as lignin-other, starch, sugars. Some mycelium may not germinate on lignin-other.
For example Cubensis will only utilize complex cellulose when a spendable carbon source is present (starch-sugar). It also benefits from pre-decay, where small units (intended to be absorbed, animal-other), are produced.
Some mycelium can use lignin-other in replacement of starch-sugar (little present). They can use plant "extractives" and convert them into essential carbon.
----
Lignin-other vs assembled glucose, cellulose and starch:
The lignin-other content must be made soluble, if not already, it must then be converted into for example glucose. Assembled glucose, no real conversion is needed to produce glucose units, simple cleaving is required.
There are several types of amylase for starch, not all organisms carry all of them.
Production of alpha-amylase by yeasts and yeast-like organisms.
----
Cellulose:
Plant fiber, cellulose, is a complex almost "inert" material composed of glucose. For spore decay to work, it must have starter resources to grow well.
If the mycelium produces cellulase, it will grow correctly.
----
Paper pellets:
If "chemical-additive free" *, should contain no notable germination source, and have a pH of 7-7.5. Another classification would be acid free, no additive cellulose, it's also recycled.
* Inks: The inks are plant based, such as flower pigmentation, not toxic.
----
Cellulose + nutrients, + "starter" carbon, spores germinate and begin to grow. Ideal use, spore work: 4-6g of sucrose * per 100g of paper, card, other.
Cellulose + nutrients, - "starter" carbon, no notable contamination. Ideal use, substrate: 10% (dry-to-dry), spawn to cellulose.
* Lignicolous: plant extractives can be used instead.
