You used too little sub.
In a 66qt, you should have damn near 10 qts of sub alone. I do a brick of coir (comes out to 8qts) plus 2 qts of verm and 4-5qts of spawn. So the average tub should have near ~14 total quarts give or take a couple.

I cut my holes at 5.5" from the bottom on the 58qt tubs, my substrate is usually 4.5" thick without the casing layer

I've got some extra colonized jars that have been sitting around for about a month now doing nothing. Might as well try some very mini monos with some empty cat treat boxes I have

I don't think there's a "Normal" for a mutated shroomie. I'd love to be corrected.

Hey everyone I just have a simple question. I just got a new apartment and have some leftover BRF and verm from my previous grow. I have 2.5 cups of BRF and a ton of verm and I was wondering if 2.5 cups of BRF 2.5 cups of water and 5 cups of verm would be the proper mix to use up the rest of my BRF with?

I've got so much agar going, it makes me happy <3
My clones are finally getting fuzzy (First time cloning), and my plate transfers are looking great.
I will be doing a LI very soon. I'm thinking of doing a jar of water with broken glass and shaking the fuck out of it. That seems to be the most effective way to use a plate fully. How much would a standard grain jar need of LI in ml? Is it worth getting those sippy cup pourers? If I have a sterile syringe fresh from the pressure cooker, and do the injecting in my SAB, can I safely pull in more LI after flame sterilizing the needle?
Also, I know cloning a clone is not recommended. But for how long can i keep my agar sample going by just doing a transfer to a new plate ?

I have a few stray grains colonized in a few jars... would taking one of those grains and dropping it on agar be worth while? I'm new to agar and am just playing around with many different things. Done a Texas orange cap swab to three plates, a drop of Cambodian MS on one plate, and took a chunk of Stipe off an large Ecuador PF mushroom.
This grain is Pes Hawaiian multi spore to WBS

You can definitely do grain to agar, is the rest not colonizing? If it is I'd wait until you can get a chunk of mycelium rather than a piece of grain. That way you can see everything better.

Like pull a chunk of myc off the grains with tweezers or something? I'm not exactly comprehending. I have grains with myc that didn't come out of the jar when I just dumped a jar into tray mix you know. Don't use one of those?

You could pick one up off the floor and put it on agar. The mycelium should grow out right away, make a transfer
