I'll post 1 when I get off work. It was a tissue sample from a fruit, not a pin off a plate.

Tissue samples should be clean off the bat.
Did you cut down the middle or break it open with your fingers at the base?

I broke it open at the base with my fingers. You can't see the streak of bacteria around the mycelium in my pic but at the 4-6 o'clock positions you can see a nice puddle of mycelium and bacteria soup. It looks like I might have contaminated this plate with yeast too...probably brought it back with me from work, possibly could've been drunk when I did this transfer but I did several other transfers and they're all fine. This plate was left over from my 2nd time pouring and I poured too hot and got a bunch of condensation, hence the puddle. Everything looks fine in the pic, but in person it looks nasty.

Idk how I fucked up cloning this bad unless the fruit itself had a bacterial contamination maybe? It didn't have any deformities or splotches on the cap. Every single clone I've attempted has resulted in a bacterial mess, but I can transfer from a clean culture without contamination.
Think I should just ditch this clone and wait till my next batch fruits and try again?

Sterile technique.
Probably your hand went over open media or you didnt flame sterilize your xacto knife properly.
Keep practicing and being conscious of where your hands are going over and how quickly. Try practicing with empty agar plates. Not joking.

I always keep my receiving plate on the left so my hand doesn't cross over it, but I could've fucked up from the start, can't remember that far back exactly what I did. The suspected yeast contam definitely could've been a fuck up, I did 4 transfers from various cultures and 4 germination plates on top of possibly being drunk.
I really need to get an inoculation loop or some nichrome wire and make one.

If your tissue clones are bacterial on agar then I doubt it's bacteria from your hands

Beats me, there's too many things that could play a role in what happened. Could've been my sterile technique but I doubt it. I rarely get mold on my plates anymore, and haven't seen it in a jar since my first grow that I completely fucked up.
So ditch it and start fresh, continue transferring until I clear up enough bacteria for the myc to take off, treat it with antibacterial agar, or in my next transfer drop a square of agar on top of my transfer?

Not really how long but how high...170 used to be pretty standard these days we aim no higher then 160 for better success but id say anything over ten mi utes above 170 is worth a do over
I brought my casing layer up above 170 for just over 10 min and used it anyway. Ended up tossing that tub

Were you trying to germinate spores? From my understanding you have to transfer from another plate with growth to the tea agar plate...I had no problem with the tea agar other than slow growth after the tranfer

Here is a cube clone on dog food and black tea

And here is a Pan Cyan on WBS and Tea agar

Zero growth on the tea agar plates. Myc tried to "jump off" after a few days but died in "mid air" seems like. :/
What exact recipe did you use Leftfield? I used DFA and 2% black Tea.

Use normal agar so the mycelium will grow and you can transfer it away from contamination. And using normal agar the contamination will grow too so you can see it and avoid it.

I did Tea agar only cause I was tired of getting contradictive answers regarding the "barely visible ring" which extends 1-2mm around the culture.
Some say it's bacteria some say it's myc. I have it on cube cultures I have it on Pan cyan cultures.
So I just wanted to see if the ring would go away. But nothing grew....

It's working @ 2.2% nitrogen, I have a tiny bit just breaching the surface, 4 days. I will take images within the next 2 days for better visual quality.
Should also work for lignicolous mycelium, probs better. I'm using WL-Tek max, grain ratios, 75% water.

Made my first spore prints (P. cubensis var 'B+') and packaged them up yesterday.
I'm looking forward to getting access to the marketplace at the end of the month so I can help spread the genetics and increase my varieties and species collection
First time printing and some fruit bodies do not produce the same as others. Keeping the light prints for myself :P

I don't use tea agar, I was just testing the theory out...hell I spit one tea plate and nothing grew on it until the agar completely dried out after a month or so...

My T-Gel wasn't built for non-lignicolous mycelium, as I mentioned you make a normal-weak mix with ME. Use the black tea extract as an additive, in replacement to expensive antibiotics.
