Oh no, I was talking about kidmyco's pastyplate. You're bags look fine from what I can tell kyshroomer, but you probably have more experience than me. I'm only on my 3rd and 4th grow.

Maybe this is common knowledge but, have you guys ever taken a wedge from a fully colonized plate that you opened in open air for more than 30 seconds? I've done it plenty and with the huge spore load I have at my place atm I think it's safe to assume that a shitload of mold spores landed on the plate while the lid was off.

It's curious that the trasnfers taken from said plates did not contaminate the receiving plates and no mold spores would germinate. Same goes for an agar plate you want to save from the green, as it is also safe to assume the whole plate is covered with mold spores by the moment you take the wedge.

I guess the mold spores get hopelessly stuck in the wedge and myc will grow over them (or maybe eat them) making them harmless. Food for thought!

Can someone answer me a question, why G2G when you could make GLC? I'm quite nervous about G2G transfers, I will try as soon as I've got a few PDA transfers but I was curious why it's more popular than GLC? Always seeing posts about G2G moreso than anything from agar.

One thing I can think of that makes G2G "better" is that if you have ONE grain that is contaminated
you will transfer than one grain to another ONE jar. But if you make GLC with that contaminated ONE
peice of grain, then you would potentially contaminate EVERY jar with that water.

This is a solid answer, does anyone have any other advantages / disadvantages.
Opening up uncolonized spawn jars seems like such an invitation for contams even in a sterile SAB (trying anyways obviously but just curious)

that doesnt make any sense. if a jar has a single contam grain, the whole jar is contam. especially after
shaking the jar up. and imo saying g2g is 'better' then glc is a false assumption. g2g is about as simple as it gets.

Yep, GLC is a second rate tek that's outdated as hell, good for cave men and morel men.

Considering our grains are never completely sterile, adding water is a good way to snatch all the possible nasties in the grains, that will be very happy with the addition of water to proliferate.

G2G is outrageously faster than GLC too, since you're not taking all the goodies and myc that you can with G2G. If you don't want to G2G learn to do LC like a champ. One LC can noc a shit ton of jars, easy phat stacks of spawn in no time.

Uh lets be adults here. Practice with legos?

I have had success with a clean, sterile SAB. I understand its purpose but i see no reason to not clean it. That wasnt my question.

Please don't be act like that when someone has a legitimate questions, its very deterring especially people brand new to cultivation want assistance. I'll keep out of CULTIVATION GENERAL DISCUSSION and keep my questions to myself. I don't know where all this hostility has come from. This place really has changed.

Thanks for any answers anyone. I haven't tried G2G I was just curious.

this place hasnt changed that much. its been worse. much worse before. and better sometimes too. whos being hostile?

I mistook your post apparently. I don't get how you would practice with legos, maybe something different. sorry for the confusion, it just upsets me when I see posts like what I mistook yours for.

apologies, and to thread, back on topic.
