It does help but if I remember right they ended it with.
We have to conclude our study because we don't have a direction to go after this point. Which kinda sucks.
Good they shed light on the subject but now all these "new age hippie assholes" know EVERYTHING from watching the first 15 minutes of it. Smh

Anyone have a guess as to why my Potato dextrose agar is changing colors after conducting my first Agar2Agar transfer? My mind goes to contams by default, but after studying the site more, I'm wondering if it could be oxidation of the agar?

The plates don't look great sadly. And the fact that it's being broken down before fully colonizing the surface isn't great if I remember correctly. Could be wrong so wait for someone more experienced to chime in before taking it as fact.

They don't look great but for mycelium to expand there has to be a transfer of energy. Ie plates and LCS becoming lighter as they colonize.

I've heard that some people keep their cultures going all the way to pin formation. This plate is the MS i'm using for all the clones I plan to spawn with, so I'd like to keep it around for future use if possible. Do you recommend putting it in the fridge now or letting it continue to grow?

If I understand you correctly, you want to keep that plate, to make more transfer(s) from it later on? If the plate is fully grown and you want to keep it around for more than a month or two then you should put it in the fridge, to keep it from developing further and pinning, and to keep the culture fresh. And also keep it in an airtight container/bag, to prevent it from drying out.
I don't think its very necessary to keep around MS plates for long though. Why not just use your clones? If you have spores, then you can always make new MS plates if you need em.

Just checked the date on the plate...looks like i inoculated on the 13th, so that makes perfect sense. Guess I didn't realize the shelf life was so short.

Why use clone plates if i have the MS plate?
