Thanks again for the help I think I understand better now. I will use BRF in next recipe because exact nutrition can not be determined from WBS soak water. I wonder what % strength BRF I should start with..
The BRF agar plates I did, did poorly at 2% strength
Compared to Dog Food at 2% strength

Question: I'm using an All American pc for the first time and its up to temp but there's a constant releasing of steam going on from the vent pipe with the weight on. Its rocking a few times a minute but my concern is the constant release of steam. Is that normal? From what I gather there shouldn't be and the weight should rock 1-4x a minute I bought it used but it didn't have any hard water build up that was any more than normal

Perfectly normal. I worried about losing water through steam out of the weight. Turns out I didn't even loose an 1/8th of an inch when I opened it after it cooled.

The dog food is most likely enriched, they usually add things like vitamins and calcium carbonate. Based on your results, you may be better off sticking with dog food, but adding more.
If you use the same amount of water and tea, keep adjusting the DF to suit. You want growth, but also some active inhibitory action, good luck.

I also got confused with canned dog food, opposed to dry. Canned would give you some gelatin, if boiled.

Just found something in my coir after hydrating it, looks like some husks from some grain or rice or some flower seed..? Does this thing contain nutrients, can it be source of contamination if I use this bulk substrate without proper sterilization?

PEU have always tended toward the lighter side from what I've seen posted here.. Could be that PEU's dilution of genetics over time is leading it to be more like APE.

well last night i did a long search and compiled pics from every year since then. and then when i went to post it, the site went down. i ended up closing the tab and lost the post. what I concluded is that there are seperate genetic lines for the peu. eatyualive has posted a lot of the paler one, while others still post grows showing normal coloration. perhaps there are different origin sources but at any rate the genetics lines have diverged into 2 separate peus it would seem
