I never used to have it flaming red hot but I actually discontinued that practice regardless. Now I just pc the syringes and not flame at all.

Yeah I had settled on sticking it in hot, but not red hot. About as hot as it'd have to be to do a dab off of it probably.

I make anywhere from 100-200 spore syringes and 10-20 LC syringes every month. My method for aspirating is to gently remove the lid in a SAB, then use prepackaged sterile syringes with prepackaged sterile dispensing needles to aspirate directly from the jar while holding it at an angle. I do not reuse syringes or needles. I buy them by the 100 pack, so I only use them when they are truly sterile in the packaging. I prefer not to use SHIPs because they are exposed to the air and can only be sanitized at best. So the best you could do is to push your sterile dispensing needle through a sanitized SHIP. Maybe you've heard the RR saying about sanitizing after sterilizing, its like rubbing shit on your face after a shower. If you remove the lid, their is no physical contact with anything except the solution and the needle. And if you are using a prepackaged sterile syringe out of the sleeve, then there won't be any contaminates to fall off of it and into the open jar.
In my experience, the combination of using a good SAB, opening the lid with gentle movements, and using prepackaged sterile materials has given me a very high success rate.

Are you tilting the jars at an angle or anything? The few times I've stored LI in syringes, I tried tilting the jar to avoid my hands going directly over it and had issues aspirating with the free hand.
I was using bigger 60cc syringes though and I assume yours are smaller, maybe 10cc syringes? Would love one of your videos on this!

Why not flame the ship like some do for wild Mushroom samples where they flame the outside of the mushroom. couldn't you just put a drop of iso on the ship and light it up. Kinda how i flame my scalpel.

Hello, I bought some sterilization pouches for my syringes, and plan to do the same thing. Can you tell me approximately how many times you can PC your syringes before they become damaged and compromised? Also, how many PSI do you PC your syringes at and for how long? Thanks.
p.s. I use BD 60ml syringes, if that matters.

Don't know how I missed that. I'm sure he's using 10cc syringes for sure then. Also curious if he's capping with Leur lock caps or otherwise. I'm noob with syringes.

No.

15 minutes or something should suffice. We sterilize grain for longer because it harbors endospores. Your syringe is plastic. You'll sterilize it in a much shorter time period.

Iso burns at a peak temp of 1920°c~
When I flame my scalpel it's first dipped in iso. The end if flamed and the iso lights creating a "quick flame" further down the scalpel itself.
I'll give it a go

I'm not sure what you think you're benefiting from lighting your scalpel on fire. Hope you don't accidentally knock over your iso when you do that. I don't think setting silicone on fire is a great idea either.

You can PC em lots. I never bothered to count. I just toss em in with other things getting PCed like agar or LC.

Fire extinguisher is always in the room.
The iso is on fire not the silicone. I just used 91% iso on one and lit it didn't burn the silicone it appeared to keep it's form etc. Got really really hot too.
Ime flaming the extra bit even for a moment kills off contams were trying to sterilize the outside. Once I started do that (and a few other things) I got consistent clean plates.

luer lock 12cc (the box says 10cc, thou? however they are notched to 12) syringes. I've also noticed that many 10cc syringes are notched to 10ccs, but actually hold 12ccs.
1 bag or 3 jars per syringe.

because thats the size I use for spore syringes. im a vendor on another site
but I mostly do bags. so the 1 syringe = 1 bag is just easy and helps to compartmentalize any possible contaminates. ill often make my batches of syringes from multiple lcs as well. when i pull 20 syringes, its usually from 3-4 different lcs. its all just a way to avoid putting all my eggs in one basket ya know.

Plus going over ten cc's per bag of grain places one into the too-much-moisture-has-been-introduced-into-your-spawn-bags territory.
