Why is that the party you always transfer? I usually transfer the strongest most aggressive looking areas of growth.

because the leading edge is the best place to transfer. you are transfering the right areas. you just want to get the very outer edge

You can still take the myc at the strongest point just get the clear growth in front its basically tho most vigours part and less likely to have a contam or atleast what i believe

Sometimes we seem to forget that the leading edge just does not exist. This happens with cultures that have been worked on quite a bit and grow evenly around the edges. Although it's very useful to transfer the leading edge of cultures that have been trasnferred just a few times from spores.
With the high temps we've had here this summer my cultures fully colonized the plates in 5 or 6 days and most times I was forced to trasnfer from plates that had been fully colonized for days, I just could not keep up cos I've been very busy with work. In those cases it's hard to decide from where to take transfers, but that's when making clear agar comes in handy, like LME or any other recipe that has been properly filtered using a cheese cloth. You shine a flashlight through the bottom of the plate and this allows you to identify very easily desirable and organized growth patterns.
So with cultures that already look organized and round I've found that I prefer to let them grow out all the way or nearly to let the myc show its mettle through the light and take transfers from the outter edge. It's also what I'd do if I was after strain isolation.

You were converting a shed into a nice workshop, weren't you? I need to keep up with things, did you finish it? It was looking pretty badass as far as I remember.

That's dope! I feel ya man, I could not have waited to have it finished before growing anything lol, that requires some tough self-discipline. I need to quit cigs too and I miss tripping, haven't eaten mushrooms for months, we'll see if they can help me with that.

Let us know if microdosing helps you with that, hang in there dude. I quit smoking once and the first months were fucking horrible, then you are like 3 years out of cigs and so confident you ain't gonna smoke no more that a bud offers you one while you're drunk and you take it, then you're hooked again

a higher dose might help for a longer period. take a real dose and really contemplate the pros/cons

Good on ya, Boogie for quitting smoking. That's a horrible habit that only supports giant corporations. It takes loads of will-power, and determination to quit. I smoked cigarettes for half my life when I quit. Relapsed several years later for a year, or two, and haven't touched a cigarette in over 4 years. Furthermore, I am several days into not smoking weed, or dabs after a several month relapse from being sober for a few years, so I know what you are going through.
