I left no pour agar containers in my pcs for over a week.
64 of them...
Is it ok to pc again shortly or would that cause carmelization?
I've seen contam issues before by letting them sit for a long time in the pc but I can't see any visible contams on these plates.
I guess it's easy enough to make and everything just don't want to clean all that agar out of the containers.

I love the kerr 8 oz wide mouth jars with white lids and now I've been using unmodded white lids and keep them tight while colonizing. this means no need for foil while pcing also.
for me they are much easier to handle and cut from and everything else. nice viewing capability too. they stack nicely. I wrap mine with saran to keep the outside very clean for future transfers.

true val and ace sell them and wally has them on the shelves sometimes but not online. they're only 8.50 for a 12 pack at wally.

On a cost stand point, I got a 60L bag for right around $20. My coir cost me 3.99 for a 3 pack(eco earth) So yea for $20 I could get 15 bricks that would make me about 6-8qt per brick. BUT I do not like eco earth. I get far more contamination with it than verm. I may need to try another brand of coir.
60L bag of verm for $20!? Oh my, didn't know how lucky I am. I get a 100L bag for 15 euros

PC them again you'll be fine. If you use malt agar, malt doesn't caramelize till about 3500f and if you use dextrose, which is a form of glucose, you're lookin at 320of so we really don't have to worry about caramelization. The highest temp your pc will ever reach is like 270 or so if I'm not mistaken.

I thought I've been told that cooking agar for 45 minutes and at too high of PSI can cause carmelization. Guess I just didn't understand the context or am remembering completely wrong
Thanks for the input guys I am recooking now

I've read it too but I don't know it takes some high temps to caramelize malt and glucose. Fructose will fail at 220 or so but malt is a strong complex sugar. As is dextrose. Maybe at extended times but I don't know man I still don't think 45min at anything less than 300 degrees is enough to do in malt or dextrose.
But I could very well be wrong.

3 for $1.80 from Big Lots. Flat bottom and larger surface area than the wide mouth shorties. Unlimited number of uses means I'm not throwing out dozens at a time after only 1 use. I don't have a use for petris at this point
A bunch of examples of how awesome they are to see what's going on in there

Not as good as these pp5's imo but to each their own
Newbie question for y'all. I pc'd a batch of Muda's bottle substrate in pp5s and a 1qt jar. I just got a shipment of filter patch bags in the mail today. Can I somehow pc a bag and pour the substrate from the jar into the bag in my SAB successfully? My intuition tells me yes but what do y'all think?
