Too good to pass up?

Looks like a damn good deal. I just ordered 60 plates from china for $17 and thought that was a good deal even though 10% were broken. I think this needs to go in my amazon cart. I did get a media pouring bottle this weekend and it made it much easier to pour plates. http://a.co/8pE9jpk

Hell yeah man media bottles are awesome, I have more on the way so I can start pouring 4-5 sleeves at a time using a hot water bath to keep them ready to pour. I love pouring plates, I feel like there's an art to it. My girlfriend thinks its hot

So you think a sub mix with just cow poo and wheat straw will work?

My Hpoo already has a lot of straw due to their diet, I add 20% Verm and like 4% GYPSUM. Works for me so far but I'm still a NOOB!  :2cents:

I have heard that some people get away with using the Black-Kow brand composted cow manure found at the big box stores. I havent used it as I can get HPoo any time and pretty much more than I can use.

Hey guys, not sure if I'm allowed to link to imgur, but its all i have right now. I have some really weird stuff happening with a first time grow, and I'm looking for some answers. There are 3 main questions I have that can be found here.

The first jar has what I think is myco piss, but I'm new and know nothing. Mycelium is super cottony/fluffy looking, not sure if it is safe to dunk and roll. The second, just a small patch of the cake isn't colonized. its been well over the time to have fully colonized. I just dont know if I should risk dunking just to have it either contam or get all messed up. The third I want to say is premature pinning, but its huge and there also seems to be more near the top. Again, safe to dunk and roll, and if I do, cut off the prematures or leave them on?

Leaching it heavily also gets rid of what ever makes it cake up like clay.

I cant even grow plants with it fresh

Whoa! How long has that been in the jar? That's strange. Vert possibly and bacterial reactions. You can try to fruit I suppose. But they are fighting something . It's a multicellular war!

All 3 are showing different signs of contamination.

So just throw them all away? I mean I'd rather be safe than sorry, but if it's something that could be salvaged I can live with it. I have 3 PMTs made up, and currently have cakes in there fruiting, should I transfer those to a proper SGFC and put those (questionable cakes) in ISO? If the prints would be fine, I could at least use them to make prints, but if the bacteria would transfer into that I'll just say screw it all.

Probably far too long, I left them in there an extra week, thinking my perlite would be here on time to make my SGFC, but they waiting and extra 5 days on top of the week.

Hellno dont waste em, you can fruit bacteria cakes all day.
Keep them separate from any healthy cakes.

No print is sterile! Thats why we use agar.
You'll get fruits and will have normal prints.
All cakes are bacterial in some way, spore syringes are always bacterial thats why u only use 1 drop of solution per inoc point.

When they quit doing so good or get bad crumble them n mix with some straw in a flower pot an mix in soil. Mainly cause it looks cool.

Do some more reading to get a better understanding of cultivation

I got these 5 qts of millet I put like 5-10 drops of APE spore solution to like a week and a half ago or so. Nothing going on yet, can't really do much with them right? I got germination on a petri, so probably just toss to free up jars/space i'm guessin

Yea, I'd toss the griains and starte with new freshly sterilized grains for other inoculations.  You may consider giving those jars a few more days though.

Gonna grab me some millet in the next couple of days. And now that you mentioned it, might as well order a APE syringe as well. Thanks for reminding me mang
