At first they were not that I had to adjust my hole size cause I noticed the myc stretching out like it wasn't getting enough FAE and since I only had a 3/32 drill bit that's what I used but after realizing that it was not getting enough FAE I went an bought a new drill bit set an made them 1/4 then I realized I was misting to much so I cut back on that like 4 days ago but thanks for the info. Would you mind to check out my journal an let me know what you think about harvesting the few fruits 1 looks as if the veil will soon break

Just throwin this out there but what is the effect on the shrooms we cultivate if one was to give light 24/7? Is too much a bad thing, like with most other aspects of life?

of the few similarities mushrooms share with plants is that they both tend to grow more in the dark phase. this stems naturally from our day/night cycle, as night is less stressful on plants and fungi. heat and sunlight are big stress contributors, so at night they are less stressed and can expend more energy towards growth. but also consider they need light to produce energy, so the 12/12 cycle is the best mix of day and night that has been found for fungi. anything otherwise wouldn't necessarily be bad, just not optimal.

Could not have asked for a better answer. Thank you Munch

Mine have been as well for the past couple of months. I just had to replace a light in the closet and got a 5000k LED with equivalent to 1550 lumens. Shit is bright as hell but I'm thinking the shroomies might love it and my girlfriend likes it for doing her makeup so it's a win win

You know I have to say, I have been growing under 24hr light for a while now. I have always blamed EVERYTHING on bacteria, but perhaps growth has slowed due to 24hr light as well as the bacteria. I had a tub, same culture, that was thrown off to the side due to mold. It got very little light and the stems grew longer and fairly straight. The caps not much bigger but they were better looking shrooms than what that tub had produced. Perhaps I should dig my timer out and see if it will help me any.

I've seen that a lot as well with tubs put out because of contams....Really nice shrooms come out sometimes with next to no light or FAE. Maybe more dark phase and high co2 triggers growth?

That gif would be 100x better if it started without text, then have Bulk appear when the first side falls, and have Substrate appear when it plops down into position.

can't argue with that
How many folks actually measure out their sub mixes and how much water they add? I've always just mixed it up rough but a recipe would be nice, always measuring out the same amount of water and all that
