Recycled gypsum probably torn out of flooded, moldy basements? I'd sterilize that... I picked up five pounds of calcium carbonate for $12 w/free shipping.

Correct, according to many commercial growers they need to be supplemented to perform well. Interestingly, one YouTuber has been growing them on ~5lb grain bags cased with coir with success.
It seems they need a lot of nutrients in order to yield an appreciable amount. God damn, they taste GOOD.

wood enriched bran is the best way to go ime. I have also fruited on cvg cased with jiffy mix. I would do the wood in bags and fruit the bags with bran and low spawn ratios. if you want to know the wood pellet/bran recipe for my last 4kg bags me you dont have to use bran and can just increase spawn ratio but i do both and keep them at a low temp and PC them..
If you dont have bags i would spawn to sterilized wood supplemented with coir and case it and fruit it in a FC. you will need very low temps to make them pin. use low FAE if you want more trumpet shaped fruiting bodies, and flood them with FAE for more fat short big capped fruits like in the wild.

I have seen that guys channel. that shit is so weird.. i would not use that much grain just for that small of a yield but he does get really big fruit. I would also case wood bags with coir. coir is a nice casing.. They taste so good, i took some with me to a barter festival and cooked them and shared em for free along with some other blue oysters, some onions, some potatoes and a dozen and a half eggs into some tacos with a brick a cheese. was great. i love mushrooms.

I agree, his methods right now are somewhat suspicious lol! I'm thinking he does it because its very little work. Make some LC, an assload of bags, case them and mist a couple times a day.
Also a lot of his fruits look like shit atm...

Good question. Very likely, the only good answer you'll get is from an academic research paper (I could be wrong). Most likely it is a combination of things, but generally speaking, nitrogen is the biggest limiting factor. I wish I could say for certain, but if you use a lot of grain spawn with Lipa's fuel pellet pasteurization tek, you could probably avoid using bran and having to sterilize your bulk sub. If you are building your own spawn, I could see this being practical on a relatively small scale.

Your presence means you are no longer ignoring the undeniable correctness of my posts and the wrongness of yours. How's that working out?

So I have a question I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum..
So I have some semi dry shrooms mostly abhorts that I wanted to make tea with so I don't have to wait for the bigger better ones to dry with desiccant..
My question is would 1.5g of the semi dry ones make for a good tea?
They're not cracker dry but it does sound like paper then I touch them.. If u can understand what I mean
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Make tea with them, see what happens. probably will trip.
Desiccant drying kills potency
get a dehydrator
etc.

I couldn't get a dehydrator and had to harvest so I'm stuck with what I got..
I just don't know how tolerance works with My shoes and don't wanna ruin it for when they dry in the next day or 2

Your tolerance will be back to baseline in less than a week. If you havent tripped in a long time though the first trip is usually the best one so if you can wait then wait for the rest of your harvest to dry and make tea with a full eighth and toss those dry pins in the mix for next time.
If you want to eat the shrooms and you are making tea theres no reason you need to dry them. take the ones that are drying and make your tea now if you are trying to trip. Fresh tea is the best tea, also. Only reason we dry them is for long term storage if you are trying to trip though you can eat them at any stage

I wanna save some but I wanna try them tonight so I'm just letting them dry in my desiccant chamber til I wanna make the tea..
I haven't tripped on shrooms in like 3 years but I've done L a few times in the last year..

Fuck desiccant! hang a heat lamp above them, or any incandescent bulb and stick a fan on them. Dry at about 140-160f if you can push that high. Desiccant is libel to mold if they dry to slow.
