Is 7 grams of fresh stones a high dose? I just ate 7 grams, first time eating stones. I'll soon find out if it's too much I guess

Nah that's a mild to medium dose. I think a good starting dose to test the waters is 10g fresh. I did 15g first time around and it was pretty decent but nothing too wild

Ya definitely wait haha. I could have had weak stones for sure. I haven't tried messing around with them since the first attempt and it wasn't a very impressive attempt in the first place Hmmm maybe I should bust out my print tonight

Hey also, how did that ape swab work out? Did anything germinate?

I've had a hard time germinating my ape swabs, but have been successful. Its so hard to tell if I actually got any spores on the swab, and I let my ape overmature like a mofo

Not yet nope It's been nearly a month and nothing yet, don't really have much hope tbh. Anyway man, regardless of the outcome I'm endebted to you, that was awesome on your part.
On the other hand, I don't know if you remember the pf tek pucks I posted a while ago? The ones from mtez's swab that were supposed to be ape but looked like weird ass cubes? Turns out that I got some leucistic fruits that look like APE but thinner and slender, and drop black spores
It's probably a cross of APE and regular cube. I got some cultures of this mutation on agar already, we'll see how it turns out but it's def gonna be interesting, who knows maybe I have here a new variety APE that drops spores, dream come true except for my suspicion that it might be a lot weaker than the real APE.

Man sucks sorry that it didn't do anything. That's awesome you may have a new variety, though! How close are you to putting it to grain? That's exciting for sure. Keep a look out in your mailbox man I may just send you something else to compensate for the fail

Man Nate! You don't have to compensate at all man, shit happens and it's not your fault at all, your act of generosity is what really counts.

I would, but unfortunately it's not so easy, it would require lots of work to stabilize a new variety, something akin to what Pasty is doing with his rusties.
But a clone is still a clone, so I'll go with it

I moved to oats for a bit and found it to be quite bacterial. I didn't want to think it was the oats - as the jars/bags colonized so quickly...but as soon as I went back to WBS I realized it was the oats all along. Inocuole had the same issue as well. Bacterial-ass growth with methods that had worked in the past. Oats for me was an extremely fast-colonizing grain- but it's outcome proved to be detrimental in the long run when it came to health/potency/yield.
WBS and Rye are all I like to use at this point. The oats were an epic fail that I didn't want to admit to!

wazzup morty.
this is from another thread and i didnt want to thread jack but i think this is worthy of discussion/relevant to recent dialog here.

true but in cooking applications a 'simmer/light boil' and a 'roiling' boil have different impacts on whats being boiled. like making rice. if you hard boil them it turns to mush really quick. so you lightly steep them. same with eggs. im not saying its the same thing but we are dealing with food items and i just wanted to comment but didnt want to thread jack a tek. i edited the name out?? probably didnt have too good way to learn the search feature
id recommend a less rapid boil when making grains. once you know what to look for, boil them like bones but if you are trying them out for the first time, just take your time. waiting to see exploded grains is what leads to shitty jars.
if you are just boiling to steam dry whats the rush? if you are boiling to absorb water you can easily burst shit.

I cover them with twice the amount of water, bring up to a rolling boil and hit the timer for 15 min. This produces perfect oats for me at around 5000 feet above sea level.

I turn my shit on high till it's starts boiling then turn it to med-high for 40 min. Haven't had a single contam in 50 jars
Also I have some plates that need transfers but won't have time to make agar till Sunday. You think I'll be okay putting them in the fridge for a few days, and if so do I need to do anything special after I take them out before transfering?
