If you're in the states, I'll send you some, but keep the $10. Payment is you do a spore print or swab giveaway within the next 3 months with a minimum of 1 print. Deal?
Deal brother. I'm running (somewhat) exclusively a PE clone from a very good reliable source, gave up on all my other projects, just wanna do this. I'd love to make some swabs and send them in a large whack. Only have about 20-24 lids to rotate. Gonna send a PM. Thanks brother.

Those won't work for grain jars. The label says they are 1 micron..
We need filters that are at most .3 micron.

Today has been a really really frustrating and disappointing day. I know you've all been there, so I'll leave it at that. *Sigh*
A lot of shit went in the trash just now. I'm going to bed and I'm never getting up again.

Please do get up again. We all have our moments (I had mine yesterday) but there is always a way to make it through.
If you fail, try again. And again. And again. Over and over again!

So here's another topic to discuss with you fine cultivators, I keep seeing all these agar projects going on and notice a lot of you guys are doing 5 or more transfers on your projects. As I'm new to the agar game I'm trying to figure out why it's necessary to make so many transfers. I'm currently on my 3rd transfer with multiple projects and with my novice eye I can't find anything that tells me there not ready to be fruited out. So after all that rambling my actual question is do you feel 3 transfers is enough to get a clean culture?

Three should be plenty unless you're dealing with something you're actually trying to clean up. If you started from spores and have clean, organized growth, they should be fine in 3 transfers.

This hits home for sure, now that I've started working with agar I don't know how I ever survived the wait game prior. I have some ultures I plan on transferring this weekend to make some master plates, maybe I'll throw a few agar slices into some oats and see how they come out. Thanks for the advice

I usually do 3 transfers or so. Some people do more when they are trying to limit the amount of genes or obtain isolates, or they are just seeing what happens.

Waiting on things, so having some fun with mexicana. Going to try a few methods to get this fruiting. Case straight grains, add a little cv to the grains and case, put some in a half pint.lol basically looking for anything to grow these in.lol

Here's the dub tub straight cased grains cased with cv, on top of that is a half pint or 1/4 pint straight cased, and then I got a container with grains mixed with a handful of cv and cased with cv.

I figure what ever happens it will at least produce stones. I kept a few stones that got transferred from the g2g..shiet I ain't never eaten stones before, ain't that the magic truffles like in dem moving pictures..hell yah.
Damn, this should be enough.

I clean up wild prints and store them.. usually it only takes 5 or 6 and then I get picky from there on which growth I'll grab and run a few more. Crazy I know, I never really end up doing much with them (old plates sit until full colonization, and I slurry them into my chip bucket or planters). Something about having eight or nine woodlovers on hand feels good and I really enjoy culture work. I've germinated spores off a dirty year-old map in my backpack, old foil in a toiletries bag, a hotel post-it note, and gill flesh from dried mushrooms almost 2 years later. I like the challenges, and it helps gain exp in culture work and sterile technique.
Sometimes it is preference.. people want fast growth or potent fruits etc etc so after a few transfers and grows they'll isolate it and test further.

Do you guys think I have more chance getting Mexicana fruit fro a pin clone, over a stone clone, or are the genetics all there in both?

Genetics are there in both
but from a stone clone I think you'll likely to be closer to finding your want without so much time transferring and testing

Ok, thanks for the info. I got stone on agar, but I see a couple pins on the wall and thought about cloning. my stones upset the casing, making it look like the scene from San Andreas. I was thinking, less stones, nicer sub equals more opportunity for fruit.

I'm wondering if this is causing some issues.
Do any of you all that fruit at spawn fully case? Now that I think about it, the only tubs I've ever had succeed weren't cased. My cased tubs have never ever worked.
