Can you please clarify?
I have a feeling that you spawned a couple days ago and are freaking out. Tell me more.....

Well you follow on the current grow log, i havent posted back on it because there hasnt been any pins yet. One tub did go cobweb on me so i put outside, though the rest are looking fine but no pins yet. I could be freaking out but this is the longest i ever had to wait its been like 1 and half weeks in fruiting though haha I just hope it goes well. And this is my first time working with fluffy mycelium and its unknown to me

Really? My last shoebox pinned in 8 days. Do bigger subs take longer? I would think with the same 1:1 ratio time wouldn't make a difference but that could easily be wrong

The only PE swab I had turned out to be bacterial, couldnt get any germination across 6 plates :/ that's coming up on the list though, I'd rather start out with APE if I'm gonna take a stab at either one. Got LGT and PESA in the works at the moment.

I'm wondering if it's necessary to let an MS syringe stored in the refrigerator get to room temperature before inoculating an agar plate.

Why would it matter? It'll reach room temperature afterwards.

Pretty sure you can figure that out using just a bit logic

There's not such a thing as "working with a tomentose". Genetics may have a role to play on how easily mycelium can become rhizo or tomentose, but this change in appereance is mostly due to an environmental response, nothing inherently good or bad in rhizo vs tomentose, except that rhizo looks cool on agar and makes it easier to see bacteria and growth patters, well and it usually grows faster on agar if the rhizos were caused by an under-nutritious media.
The myc adopted that appearence in response to an overly nutritious media, but if it is cube myc you have there, the same culture can become rhizo if the conditions change, so the same culture can adopt different appereances, rhizo or tomentose, it does not make a difference when it's time to fruit.
And yeah I "worked with tomentose" Bought an agar-agar powder that for whatever reason only grew fluffy myc on it, it was quite a head-scratcher at first till I pinned down the cause. Had perfectly normal grows out of those cultures.

You all don't talk much but I have about to 10 jars of PE to spawn any day now. I'm actually out of coir so it'll have to wait until the weekend but I'm excited. I prefer 27qt tubs so that's what run with 3 almost full quart jars to equal parts CVG.
I'm curious about a late casing. When I first joined, it was often said not to case after fruiting as it would hold in bacteria. Now I see people saying they late case when fruiting at spawn. I've always immediately fruited and it's been fine but never late cased. My PE surface got pretty gnarly looking by the second flush. Didn't make it to a third.

What's the best go to for storage? I've still been using freezer bags but they always loose a bit of that crispness eventually. Is jars the best? Also, what about using desiccant packs like in beef jerky inside the bags? And is vacuum sealing an option or a risk in case there is accidentally any moisture in one of the stems or something.

Good call, that does look like cotton actually. Definitely really wet and bacterial in there.
Dude I can't wait to get back home in a few days and spawn some tubs!

I late cased my fully colonized PE tub spawned 5/14 at day 10 and it just ate the casing for a week and still hasn't pinned. Pseudo cased at spawning as well.
The PE tubs that I just 'pseudo cased' at spawning (5/22) and did not late case at 10 days are knotting now.
