Nah. When you buy the 941 it will come with a weight and a black overpressure plug for canning. You can replace the weight assembly with a stopcock and the black plug with a red one, which seals tightly, to make the canner pull a vacuum like a sterilizer. All AAs use the exact same design and sterilizer parts fit on canners and vice versa.

Hey, if it's the gasket that's leaking, try seeing if has shrunk. Mine shrinks after every cycle, I have to warm it up a bit and stretch it by hand. You stretch a little and rotate, stretch, rotate. Remember that a warm gasket is easier to stretch than a cold one. Mine isn't even in bad shape or anything but it shrinks pretty fast while it's cooling after a cycle. I need to buy a spare one and throw it aside till this one fails on me.

Right now I'm saving up for a new guitar amp, and I probably won't be able to get what I want for under a grand, but after I get that I think I'm gonna take the plunge and get a 75x, which is the electric version of the 941. After owning an electric sterilizer I don't think I could ever go back to a stovetop one.

I got a $3000 custom guitar in July and now I want an equally badass amp to match. I was able to pay the guitar off over time but I want more instant gratification on the amp. I'd really like to get a Mesa of some sort but I'll settle for a Fender Twin Reverb. This is a pic of the new guitar and it's absolutely fuckin amazing.

If you look around for a deal you can get a 75x for about 600-700 bucks. I've got a couple options. There's a dude on Craigslist selling a pristine Mesa express 5:50. I think 50 watts will be enough even though I play a lot of jazz and funk and would like a few more watts for a bit more clean headroom. I love boutique stuff but the Fender Twin Reverbs are a little cheaper and run at 85 watts, plus Fender amps have killer cleans. I really don't care about a good dirty channel because I get my dirt from stacked analogman modded tube screamers.

Awesome. I dunno if he's down to ship but I live in New Mexico. I definitely want either a Fender Twin Reverb or any Mesa that does 40 watts or more. I don't really want a stack because it's a lot to carry around. Would much rather have a combo. I've got about 500 saved up but I have to pay rent with my next check, so I'll be looking to buy something a week from Monday.

I used to have a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, which is the 60w version of yours and it sounded great, but I had a few issues with it. The input jacks would come loose while playing, and I thought the dirty channel was lousy, and the "more drive" setting was total garbage. The reverb was hard to adjust right too. I ended up blowing it out running a looper through it and playing lead over the loop. I was playing Down With Disease by Phish when it started smoking lol. The main reason I'm so seriously considering a Twin Reverb is because the hot rod did sound really good, it just had what I'd call design flaws, foremost the plastic input jacks. The main reason I'm seriously considering a Mesa is because they sound awesome and are built like tanks. I'm never getting another amp with a PCB though.

Anyway the guitar is from a company called Becker Guitars in Massachusetts. He builds guitars for Chuck Garvey of moe. and Jake Cinninger from Umphreys, and Keller Williams, among others.

sweet deal on the guitar man..my deluxe has metal inputs on it and it sounds pretty damn good to me...thats crazy your fender started smoking, haha. mesa's are pretty sweet, never owned one but i've played on one. twin reverb is def the way to go with fender though. best of luck finding that perfect amp my friend..in these days of mass production it really comes down to feel of the particular item in question really..last time i was shopping for an acoustic, i literally walked through pawn shops and music stores with my eyes closed feeling necks..once i found the feel, i checked the way it sounded;)

The more I think about it the more inclined I am to go with the Twin Reverb. Seems like the most bang for my buck.

Ok. Still am fucking stupid, mainly old and can't get pics posted. I decided to crack some ofthe jars that seemed to have stalled out. I birthed the cakes. Smelled like fresh mushrooms except for a faint yeasty smell. I pulverized the cakes and mixed them in a bulk sub.and put them in a small shotgun unit. My first experiment.

So you noticed a yeasty smell, but used the BRF cakes as spawn, and used an SGFC anyways? Interesting :takingnotes:

Well,I am new at this. Did not want to fruit the questionable cakes with the good ones. Been reading about BRF to bulk. Thought I would see what would happen with these cakes that seemed to stall. They didn't smell bad. Just a subtle yeast smell but mainly like shrooms.

Cakes are always at least bacterial, so they don't make good spawn. Cakes should be fruited as cakes. You can always make a FC for a cake in a soda bottle, if you are worried about fruiting it with the others.

By making a cake recolonize, it weakens it overall. The cake was already weakened by whatever yeast, so it will likely not perform as well as it could have as a cake. In the future, I highly suggest fruiting cakes as cakes. Especially in a FC designed for cakes.

You could have fruited it with the other cakes though, honestly.
