Is, is anyone enough of a fiend to have 2 pressure cookers? The idea is tempting to me.

Just do it brutha. I have not regretted droppin the cash. Theyre cheap, hardy and 20 qt runs are nice to get through. if you do bags the double PC is a godsend.

2- No wheat bran, so I replaced it with whole wheat flour and cut the amount in half since I didn't know what it would do to it.

Bran and flour have very different textures/consistencies.
I could imagine the flour turning to paste and burning pretty easy.

This exactly...
I've burnt my mudafuka recipe many times when doing large batches if I don't stir every couple minutes in the very beginning and then about every 7+ minutes while simmering/boiling. Also it even happens when using wheat bran.

I really wish we had proper widemouth quart mason jars, these ziploc things are more expensive, warpable, and less of them fit in the PC :frown:

best alternative is the glass widemouth 24 oz ball jars

Also make sure not to tighten the pp5 containers all the way until after pcing (and cooling) or the lids will warp badly

So I want to use some of my grain water for LC broth as well as agar if possible.

1. If I want to do this, should I leave gypsum out of the mix when prepping the grains?

2. What is a good ratio for diluting the grain broth to make the LC?

3. Can I make agar using grain water or is this just a bad idea?

4. Do I dilute for agar, or use as at regular "strength" after the boil?

Thanks boys.

Do you want to use GWA with the sole purpose of not wasting the grain soak water? Or you don't give a shit about that and just want to give it a try?

If you just want to give it a try you can do this:

So you know already how awesome grain water agar is... Tired of scooping it up from the pot and pouring it into ice cube molds to freeze for later use? Can't get the right nute ratio by eye when you use the cubes to make agar?

I have the solution for your problems, get a coffee grinder and grind that shit up into a powder:

There you go, now you can weigh out the powder and use accurately, from 1gram to 3grams per 100ml of water, depending on what you plan to do.

Measure out the water first, throw it in a pot with the powder and let it boil for 5 minutes. Strain the powder into a measuring jar and add the water that evaporated off. Then do the agar prep as usual.

Crystal clear agar without sediment. :billymaythumbup:

And for those of you savvy enough to appreciate how fucking awesome sediment in LC's can be, don't strain the powder at all.

It is more of I don't want to waste any more of my ME. $$$ is on lock down and we are trying to stretch everything as far as we can. So I figure why not try to use part of something that I throw away.

I see, PDA is cheap too. I personally find the usual way of making GWA a pain in the ass, so I just grab a few dry grains and grind em up.

I got plenty of agar left, and some dextrose so I can make some PDA, I just figure if I can use some grain water, at least for LC, I can save some of my agar supplies.

I finally built a blender bottle, drying right now. My plan was always agar. But then I realized oh yeah, I can do slurrys. I don't want to fuck with cakes and spore injecting or LC injecting, can I just use a half pint of agar colonized grains?

I have more grains to make tomorrow, so I think I'm going to save that water and give it a go.

Also "APE" flush lacks any albinos still. The caps have opened partially, but for PE and APE i should wait until the stem starts wrinkling to harvest?

As far as I know, me and this guy were the only ones who could get anything other than nastiness from an "APE" swab we got from a giveaway. The fruits you can see in the pic are from that swab.

Om pm'd me to see if I had had any results yet with this APE and I did get results...

This is a pf tek plate cased with cvg. I've been doing these to clean the disgusting culture I got from the single swabbed agar plate that germinated, as a way of getting clean pins to clone.

This ain't APE, I'm pissed, all this painstaking work for nothing.

Om says this could be some weird mutation and that this could really be APE, I seriously doubt it.

I don't want to acuse anyone yet, because I can't quite wrap my mind around someone wanting to con people this way and to what end.
