It has hop extracts in it to reduce a step in the home brewing process and still get the "hoppy" flavour. Fun fact; hops were originally introduced to beer as a preservative due to their anti-bacterial qualities. This is how the IPA came into existence.

Spray malt is the way all modern malt extract is produced besides liquid extract. Hopped means they added the flower of the hop plant like weed buds too the grain juice called wort. Wort before hops is malt+water if you take that then remove the water you get malt extract.
Soke homebrewers don't have a device(lauter tun) to seperate the grain husks out so they buy the extract. Or they kettles too small to fit all the grain for a particular recipe so use extract to make up for real malt.
Idk why it's not working for you though.

I've used dry and wet LME with equal success in mycology.
Home brewing is an excellent side hobby, by the way! Every by-product can be used in mush cult. The start-up cost is under $100.
Many all-grain recipes are designed without the Vorlauf step, so no modified coolers. You essentially pitch yeast in pasteurized GLC.

KSSS pins starting to round off as expected after a few days. They're turning fat. Phat. Round. Love the variety.

Growing slow as shit though. Not sure if random clone genetics or what. Taking its sweet ass time...

I read a write up earlier and the op said when they are home their lid is usually off,so I did the same and I'm quite happy with how it's evaporating.

According to the ASBC 100 IBUs is 100ppm iso-humulone They made up the ibu scale based on measuring IAA isomerized iso acids. Since the solubility just so happens to be max at about 100ppm that means ~100 ibu is as high as beer goes. any beer saying it's above 100 ibu is marketing bullshit or they don't know the limitations of the piss poor ibu calculators that use only recipe details to arrive at their Numbers. Beers can have different perceived bitterness because of other components of hops but technically 100 IBU is max but people don't know that there's an actual analytical method behind it.

Shouldn't make a difference.
I use malt for brewing and it is extremely fine powder and ya it's really hygroscopic so it gets sticky real quick if I leave it out too long.

Interesting. Here's a 14 dollar single Dogfish Head 120 min Imperial IPA unopened allegedly 120 IBUs, a mammoth legendary beer. 18-20% bottled one month ago. Super fresh. One a year type sipper
