I wouldn't use any linen.
The plates that didn't contaminate, I am going to go out on a whim, and say you worked those ones first?

I can't remember the scientific term. But what is the point when water can take in no more of a substance (active compounds) like salt can dissolve 1.2 grams per ml of water (or something like that. What about active compounds.

I just use the hard flat table as the bottom. But a towel beats using the lid. The lids are not flat and impossible to work on IMO

So considering I'm already here asking questions. Last night I noticed something in my plates. It looks like water that has evaporated and left a kinda film or something I'm assuming it's bacteria. I would just snap a pic but I highly doubt I can get what I'm talking about in the shot visible. It's only visible when the light hits it at an angle
Thoughts?

Jesus no nothing like that I can barely see it.
I pulled some freshly poured plates and they don't have this.
It literally looks like water that left behind minerals (,I use tap well water) post evaporation.
That's what it looks like doesn't mean it is. It's on a good amount of my plates minus a few.

I know what you are talking about and I'm pretty sure it is just evaporated water spot.
Best way to know is to transfer a wedge of it to a clean dish and see if it grows at all. If not, then it's just a water spot.

It looks greasy compared to the actual media itself. I wouldn't consider it growth as I haven't observed it until recently. One of the plates had water in it so I swirled it around to see if it follows the water.
Dawg That's a good idea I'll do that when I get home

Seems to happen less with bottled spring water. My well water plates get that a lot. Seems to be whatever shit is in the water, rolling around on the plate when the water drops move. If you don't move plates for a long time won't happen.
Also musshboy I think that invisible ring is like where the myc fills in the next day. I asked before and was told that. Like it'll grow into that invisible ring, make another, grow into that, and so on. Atleast I think. Really seems to be like that.

What are the major factors involved in producing an even full flush in a monotub, besides the obvious agar work.

Crazy huh. We are very counter culture people but I feel like we all got each other's backs. I'd help anyone from here in real life in any way I could.
