Also what makes it so contam resistant? PF Tek does work quite well for what it is. Especially with some random ass spore water, it works. I don't see why it wasn't refined better for larger scale.

Bacteria has a hard time colonizing it so the whole cake doesn't get ruined. Also if there is bacteria it doesn't get expanded either

Exactly my thoughts at first and then I could corroborate that through experience, that's why I don't get why the pf tek sub is not used more often for things like cleaning a really dirty swab for instance.
From a swabbed APE plate I transfered to more agar and also used a syringe filled with sterile water to pierce the agar with a 21G needle and then expelled the invisible pieces of myc into a glad mini round with pf tek sub at the bottom.
The tiny piece of myc tissue coupled with the pf tek sub, it's an excellent way to clean stuff up, when the myc colonized ~90% of the plates I then used the same method to inoculate more pf tek plates and finally from these plates I took some samples to agar and the myc is growing completely contam free now and much faster without having to grapple with bacteria.
Another nice thing is that the APE pf tek plates that reach 100% colonization get a quick dunk and then get cased with cvg, so I hope I can get some nice and clean clones from these plates.
I posted an APE lc in potd that it's now on grains, but it is slightly bacterial because when I started this pf tek experiment I didn't sterilize the plates long enough and the LC came from one of those plates.
The good thing is I now have some clean APE on agar

That is kind of why I want to use some 1Qt pp5 food containers for my Pans when ever I get around to them. No need to pasteurize as I will have the poo included form the start, basically a bigger cake.

Is spawning questionable jars outside a decent idea? I have a nice shady patch and two iffy jars, could top fruit them but would love some outdoor shrooms

THE FUCK? GREEN BEAN AGAR! lol I just found this in an adobe book I got. Seems like some dumb shit, and I'm not going into it any farther, I thought it would be worth a laugh to some of you.
1. Fresh green string beans. Purchased at any grocery store. You will need about 1/8th of a pound. 2. Agar (use soup agar 10 grams per 2 bars) This can be purchases in any Philippine or Japanese grocery store. 3. One cup of tap water (heated to boiling) 4. Blender 5. Strainer 6. Glass or microwave safe containers to hold media 7. Petri plates. Any size will work; however, the easiest to work with are the smaller ones. (50mm X 9mm). 8. Small pot

This is from book, would this be true?
When using liquid cultures to do mass inoculations, a small amount of your final substrate should be suspended in your broth. This allows the mycelia to transcribe and translate the necessary enzymes needed to digest the final substrate, therefore reducing incubation time. For example, add some hardwood sawdust to the broth for the fermentation of Lentinus edodes.

HEY TC's would this work? If so I might gave to build a little "shed" that can get up to the pasteurization temp, maybe a black plastic tent or something.
If you have to park your car in the summer sun with the windows rolled up for security you can use the high heat build-up to pasteurize plastic bags of spawning or growing substrate. Just put the bags in your car for 3 days and shake them up daily. Bill Russell, State College PA.

If a monotub is sealed correctly does the environment matter besides temperature and light?

To clear up that question I've heard people say never have a monotub in a room with fans, but my tub will be totally sealed all the way through.

I'm onto a second file that is "tips". I guess maybe I should move from ME LC to grain LC.

It's not totally sealed, there's still gas exchange happening. Tubs can thrive with the minimal amount of gas exchange that occurs with a slightly sealed lid. Poly isn't necessary and takes time to dial in while just putting a lid on is pretty much the right amount of control. What I'm asking is, will the fans in the room effect gas exchange.

The fans are for a cannabis plant in the same room. I don't have room anywhere else for the tub and the light is fancy and helpful to the shrooms. The lights on a twelve twelve cycle so it's doing more good than harm.
