Hey babies

So I have some new agars going, PESH and Amazon from a swab. I've made the secondary transfers to new plates, the Amazon specifically is growing really quickly (don't have good pics right now sorry).
I was wondering what the best course of action is. Keep isolating it a bit more then do traditional agar to jars, or should I wait for the first pin and clone that?

I would do another transfer or two, slant and go to grains. Clone at first flush.

Just to make sure that the growth is from the most ideal sectors first?

Goliath is not Panaeolus Cyanescens. It's actually Panaeolus Cambodigiensis. Sorry, misinformed you about that.

Mainly to ensure its clean. Doesnt hurt to go 2 or 3 transfers before inoculation.
I would slant for easy access to fresh genetics unless you want to start over from ms.

Question. Do jars have to be submerged at all in the water to cook them?
I made a little rack to get them out of the water. I often cook the grains too much on the bottoms of the jars somehow. So I figured keeping them suspended above the water would help that.
Just double checking before I run the PC

as long as 50% of the jar is in the steam you're good. the steam is what does the sterilizing. ideally the whole jar would be in the steam but it doesn't have to be.

Hmmm, I just poured some agar plates, they're sitting in my SAB... How soon can I use those plates for transfer? Should I assume they're ready to go as long as they are solid??

yes, and if you pour your agar at the right temperature they'll solidify in under 5 minutes

So, Iv'e been dehydrating my mushrooms cracker dry and vacuum sealing them with a desiccant packet for a really long time now.

Then, for some reason I can't even remember any more, I've been putting them in my freezers. At this point they are taking up a fuck ton of space in both freezers and I'm pretty sure they don't need to be in there. Am I wrong on that? I could really use the freezer space for, uhh, you know fucking food. Heh.

You don't need to freeze or vaccum seal them. I just toss mine in a giant tote with a snap lid and they stay perfectly potent. If you were really worried about moisture you could put some damp rid or whatever in the tote with the shrooms but that's even overkill imo

So this is the perfect question. I had some cracker dry, then they like softened up and not so crispy in my zip lock bag. I still tripped just fine off them last time, hole in bag sound like it would do that maybe? Also these are really thin small shrooms, nothing big and dense that would have held water inside.

Hmm that's weird I've honestly never had my mushies become bendy after dehydrating. Only time I ever had trouble was when I was drying with a fan for the first month

Whenever mine did i only ran them for maybe 8 hours they felt dry as fuck but even the slightest bit of moisture left over will make them spongy again

They went over night. These are thin as fuck shrooms. I have yet to get a big one. There really is like no where for them to hold moisture inside. It baffles me how they could hold any after like 10 -12 hours, wile others went only 8 and sat for 2-3 weeks and never did that.
