If they are big enough, sure. I prefer stainless steel trays that are about as wide as my filter but you can use anything you like. The point is to leave none of the open spaces between the prints exposed to contams. If you were printing in a SAB, a jar over the cap works great since you are dealing with still air but a hood will be blowing across your prints so anything laden with mold spores between your filter and your print should be avoided. Covering your tray just before you switch of your hood will keep the inside of your tray/the rest of the foil as clean as possible.

Shroomery blasphemy Haze. JK, I keep GGMM in my bathroom, I swear to god every time I take a shit I learn something new. In all seriousness, what are you reading up on right now? I was just reading the section on Agiricus Blazei and he very briefly mentions Japanese cultivators having success with them on 20% supplemented sawdust bags, but absolutely no other further info on that. Interesting though is he did mention the pigment and colorization of the fruit bodies being completely different on sawdust than compost and said he felt substrate could play a huge role in pigment and possibly taxonomy of species has been skewed by this. Anyways, that was my morning GGMM reading, I was thinking about trying blazei on coir so I was reading up on it, apparently it wont fruit though unless the casing is untreated and has bacteria present, I'm wondering if coir casing untreated would do the trick?

I mean I wouldn't risk it. If it's reusable you are going to need to re sterilize it anyway so you might as well do it the first time. Suck up and squirt out boiling hot water 5 or 6 times. Sometimes people PC their syringes but I've never so I can't say how you would go about doing it

I've been having a recurring nightmare where I open my petris outside of my still air box and fuck all my cultures up before I realize what I'm doing. Does this happen to anyone else?

No. But that's pretty funny. Just don't do agar work while you're sleepy or in any kinda daze.

trich isn't gonna turn green in ten minutes. It may turn green overnight, but not in ten minutes. sounds and looks like bruising. The surface looks too shiny also. could be dry
I wonder why it bruised though, interesting.

Maybe it was too dry and the air hitting it bruised it plus misting ??

I'm actually on the grain spawn part of both books. I bought GGMM first as it's easier to source so I started reading that. Then I recieved TMC and decided to start that one since GGMM is meant to be a continuation.
As for your blazei project, I think that a specific type(s) of bacteria is needed if he mentions that in his book. Not any random bacteria is gonna work probably. Also, I wouldn't at all be surprised if it doesn't work with coir, I think the best chance you would have is with a peat based casing. But definitely, for learning's sake, do them both. Or do some research on the net and try to find out what kind of bacteria it needs and what it is naturally found in.

If it's sterile, it should have a box with "sterile EO" written on it. If it doesn't, I would sterilize it how sloppy mentioned. Whenever I tried to PC my syringes, they always ended up leaking. Sometimes they would leak just ever so slightly, not enough to notice but more than enough for contams to pass through the gap. Took me a while to figure out why all my jars were going green. That's when I decided to boycott syringes and ports. A2G FTFW!
