My apologies if this was already discussed... but what is the active chemical makeup of your brain blob there? Same as the fruiting body?

Ive not tried it personally but from what Ive read it is incredibly difficult to grow indoors. However, there are a few that have been crossed with Cubes that are easier and still maintain some of the pan potency. Yellow Umbo comes to mind. I believe it was crossed with Jack Frost by Yoshi since all the numbers lined up. Maybe worth looking into.

Pretty sure Yoshi's cross was cubes and Nats.

I just saw that Coco Bliss is on sale at Amazon, about $3 per brick if you buy 10. If you buy 5 the deal is almost as good.
(Is there a better Myco-Deals thread somewhere?)

Even at that price 10 pound blocks are less expensive than 1.4 pound bricks. Are you using the bricks for convenience?
Also: the prices on the manufacturer web site, Plantonix, are pretty good + free shipping. A skid of 96 10 pound blocks drops the cost to $12.49 each. A pallet of 168 drops it to $11.90.
Hey Colorado peeps: Go in on a shared order anyone?

okay, fimetaria found, fimetaria grown, fimetaria survives from 2022 to 2023 so bi annual proven.
now to have a single semilanceata picker find it, so we can prove it to the national database that they occur naturally in norway for the first time
if the 14 semilanceata subs i have colonizing also fruits this year,
im expecting an invite to canada to bring the news of nordic mycology to the grand old big ass US/Canada communities
we gonna be growing them both like they were cubes by 2030

P.fimetaria has a lower tryptamine content that P.cubensis. For that reason along I do not see any reason for people to grow it recreationally, unless it is for a personal interest project because it is an interesting species.
And - I am happy that it is this way! It means that people who do deal with P.fimetaria are genuinely interested in it, not just from a tripping POV.

Plantonix is the shit Only gripe is their bricks vary in weight, up to 100 g. I've had some outliers come in close to 800 g and some as light as 520 g. You do have to pay attention though, half are between 600-700, and the other half are either 550-600 or 700-750.
BUT 580 + 730 = 1310 / 2 = 655

Hello friends,
As a result of a massive fungus gnat infestation I took a brief hiatus, with the thought that cleaning + time would be the answer. It was not the answer. I sent a shoebox and an insane amount of fungus gnats colonized very quickly, even though there dont seem to be any in my house plants anymore. --- A few members recommended mosquito dunk, which unfortunately is not available in my region. However, I was able to find a liquid form. On the bottle the recommendation is 1-3% dilution to water. Would I spray this on the surface? Would I add this to my bulk substrate after pasteurising it? Both?
I'd love some advice if anyone has experience with liquid mosquito dunk

If I remember correctly mosquito dunk is a bacteria, so must be added after pasteurization/sterilization. I think the gnat larvae only live in the very top layer, so I would spray the surface when you spawn.

I would use diatomaceous earth in your sub. Can be added any time

I’ve been having a problem with them lately also. No matter how much I cleaned or how many I killed they kept coming it was crazy. I finally figured out they’re breeding in the wet leaf litter where my window ac unit drips water and then coming in through the vents in the ac.
Growing in bags should fix it, or I was even considering making big covers of cheesecloth to put around my tubs until i figured things out

I can imagine the fungus gnat thing would be a headache.. But IMO if it’s reoccurring in repeat spawns and you confirmed your substrate/grains are free of them prior to spawning, making alterations to your tubs is the wrong approach. That is treating the symptom not the cause as they have to be coming from somewhere. I’d look for external nesting/breeding areas, set up traps with bait, or even call in an exterminator.
I keep my tubs in a tent right by an open window and there are always bugs, but outside my tent. If I wanted to ditch the bugs I’d close the window or move the tubs… not introduce additives to my spawn.
