Anyone remember V-tek and Waste no grain, use no 'bulk'!? Looks like it's using small containers of grain and fruiting them as is without removing the colonized cakes. Kind of like the bottle Tek?

kinda just way more complicated for no reason.. imo at least.
i like bottles because you can really load up whatever. dog food, various grains, coco just a fun mixed bag of whatever you got. really open ended with lots of room for play.
vtek uses hard to prep grass seed and is not as efficient as advertised and by admission the author couldnt cleanly spawn to bulk yet somehow at the same time pushed vtek for its 'power'.
just my take and review read the teks for yourself try it out if you want and make your own conclusions.

Nothing about that tek looks convenient above 4 or 5 containers.
Just thinking of cleaning those alone scares me.

Also for what ever reason, the only person who could get the Bio-Efficiency that Violet claimed she got was Violet herself. She said it was super simple, but had like a million and one stipulations about how to get the yields she was getting. Including super specific times to bottom water the grow (pasty basically tried to do a comparison of monotubs vs v-tek to see how well they did side by side, and the thread turned into a flame fest with Violet essentially being like Pasty did everything wrong lol)
So if you do try it and it doesnt work as well as you thought, dont expect to get much help as the people who do V tek arent really on the forums anymore, including Violet

can you explain this?

Check out my autoclave validation thread in my sig. BI ampoules are the standard for cycle verification/autoclave validation.
I'd put BI amps in the centeal bag to test heat penetration. If the test fails, extend the sterilization time until it passes. I'd use in conjunction with either an autoclave thermometer or a digital heat probe to track warm up time and max temp.
Digital probe would be better suited for an atmospheric sterilizer.

Cool. I'll read that when I get a sec. I used oven corded probes in a sacrificial top bag (I read the top was the least hot?). When loaded in a hot barrel, it took 3.5 hours to get my large WBS bags to 210-211f. I did it many times and it was consistent. Then I run it for 15 more hours. I run two elements during the bag warm up (1000w and a 1500w) then kick it back to the 1000w when it reaches temp.

I imagine cascading tasks is beneficial so how do you guys manage your time with the hobby? Like I’ve got tubs I just spawned, tubs colonizing, tubs pinning, and a good jar I could do some g2g transfers but then I’d have too many jars ready before my tubs finished their flushes. I have like 10 colonized plates, 5 I transferred a week ago, and 5 I newly inoculated the other night..
Just sit around and wait? Feels like a waste of time to be waiting on flushes when you could be dialing in other aspects

Hi, After four flushes of pink buffalo with Tek cakes in a shotgun chamber, they were dried and shriveled and I was very happy with the production. Instead of throwing the cakes away I put them in an old water trough with some very composted horse manure, the trough is located in a a shady area of my veg garden. The trough and composted manure was sitting there for months as I never got around to doing anything with it. With two days of throwing the crumbled cakes in, they started producing and producing like they are on steroids. What usually take 4 to 5 days inside in the shotgun chamber takes one day outside in this trough. Never saw any other mushrooms growing in this trough and all the mushrooms are connected to cake chunks I put in there. All the shrooms look similar to the ones grown inside. All these shrooms are for our own family/friend enjoyment (fun weekends on the farm), but my wife is concerned about these being grown outside and chance they are a different type of shroom. With everything I have mentioned, do you all think they are safe?

Time management has never been an asset of mine, but if you think a g2g will overwhelm you you can just spawn a shoebox with it instead. I know a guy who told me he stores spawn in the freezer for upwards of 6th months.. I've never brought myself to do that, but I believe it worked for him.
What do you think needs dialed in the most? You can always try new things, g2g into bottles or bags or try something outside. The world is your oyster

lately I've moved to this. I'll make jars about 1/3 to 1/2 grain and rest is bulk material. Rougher to break up, but more inoculation points on shake, g2g, and tubs. saves grain(long drive 4 me) and easier to hit 1:2-1:4 ratio which as plenty grain for what they need. don't need to be on point with moisture lvls of grains in jars either with more easily adjusting substrate hydration instead
