When you try to grow shrooms but you know your room is too messy and you keep contaminating.

Yo, ltlurker is a tc now? Man I've been gone a long time. Congrats!
Anyone have tips for pulling from a slant in a sab? That was a first, a bit awkward. Inoculated some plates with an old ms slant and the last of an old syringe that hasn't been refrigerated for years. Probably filthy, but one can hope lol.
Can't wait to get back into things.

I for one like Jordan Peterson. Sometimes I feel like thereโs a weird expectation that he be perfect. But of course he isnโt. And even if you donโt like him, you can still see the value in his lectures. Good dude, imo.

Use an inoculation loop in the same manner as clay sculpting tool to cut out ribbons of agar from the slant

for sure, it would be incredibly daft to say he has absolutely no merit, & itโs not an all or nothing thing with people. no one is gonna be perfect & heโs definitely been through a lot of shit, i no doubt would have handled all of it much worse if i were in his shoes

That's what I did, I was just hoping I could open it and hold everything in one hand like I do with my no pours lol it turned out much more difficult than expected. I suppose next time I'll put the lid down

hazyhorse said: dude yeah iโve never been a staunch follower of him but peterson had such a fall from grace. i remember seeing some of his lectures from years ago & there was some good stuff in there, & i think he genuinely did help a lot of people. but man, heโs picked some weird hills to die on & has definitely become a cult of personality & outrage itโs kinda just embarrassing lol. he also seems to misconstrue a lot of jungian psychology/philosophy & itโs kinda ironic given jungโs resistance to dogma & stating things as absolute facts. he just took it all & ran the wrong way with it
Actually I might have been a bit unfairly dismissive of him, a bit circlejerky on my end, just for the simple fact that I really haven't watched his podcasts. I only seriously watched the lectures. I objectively don't know why everybody either hates him or idolizes him, I haven't watched any of that content. I mean ok, I watched a couple, nothing crazy just a bit boring, but that was it. I figured out he focused more on his persona/books and self-help angle which is fine by me, guy gotta eat, but I'm not the target audience for that.
His lectures though are fantastic.

His maps of meaning lectures at U of T are available for free on YT and are nearly as good as the symphony of word and thought that is the psychological significance of the biblical stories, also free on YT.
Both are masterpieces.
Yup that's the good stuff.
Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief Personality and its transformations The Psychological Significance of the Biblical Stories: Genesis
Amazing stuff, I actually had those downloaded and backed just in case his channel got nuked.
The new stuff I don't know about. I might give it another shot, but I don't think it can hold a candle to those lecture series. Like I said, guy has to pay the bills somehow, if the new stuff is what does it fair enough. Maybe he will eventually return to the roots and we'll get another lecture series.

I am kicking the idea around of making a "How do you much cult?" Thread.
It would be a place where everyone can fill out a simple explanation of their process type of media and cultures. We all have shit we do differently but I think it would be cool to see how everyone cultivates. Example, I don't use a flame in my agar work, I make single use throw away punches. Thoughts?
