Iβm on the WBS train without complaint because 1) itβs fully functional and 2) itβs good to learn new grains because you never know what might or might not be available. Itβs good to be adaptive to circumstance.

I love wheat. It is a bit more expensive for me, but it works so well itβs worth it.

The only thing I can find locally is WBS. All other grains I have to get from the Zon. I don't live in a rural area so I can't get cheap grains.
I like millet and WBS since I can just soak overnight. If I want to I can do no prep millet.
Each grain has their own nuances when it comes to prepping it. You will find the one for you once you have experimented and what is cheapest/closest.

Soak overnight in a brewery bag and rinse until water runs clear. Let the WBS lay on a sheet/screen/whatever for a few hours until the excess moisture on the surface is gone. Fill half way in quart jars and PC.
I just leave the sunflower seeds in and haven't run into any issues. I also tend to avoid WBS that is sunflower seed dominant.
