My girlfriend believes she was a salmon in her past life. She describes an experience wherein she vividly experienced life as a salmon, swam against the current, spawned and died. I believe she experienced that but I don’t know if she actually lived the life of a salmon.

I sometimes wonder just how fucked up it would be if some of people's past life memories were actually other people's memories? Which they are of course, but you get what I mean. This sort of loop may mess with one's groove when tripping. In your girlfriend's case though, I have to say, that's a hell of a memory to have. Extraordinary and interesting.

(feel almost like a troll restarting the discussion but I can't help it 😬)

FWIW, CO2 doesn't sink in low volumes but you can definitely have a gas filled space where different kinds of gases aren't uniformly distributed. Diffusion doesn't happen instantly. A couple of examples:

- When there is a fire indoors, smoke gathers above and it is easier to breathe closer to the ground.
- If you take a vape and exhale the smoke into a cup it'll gather at the bottom for quite a while.
- In a large crowd, like say a metal concert where people are really packed together there is definitely a different concentration of gases at head level than some centimeters above. This difference gets better if there is wind.

Sure, after a while if the sources of gases, smoke and stuff are removed and you wait long enough, gases while distribute uniformly to reach an equilibrium, but this doesn't happen instantly.

Additionally, when thinking about gas or fluids behavior, you can't really compare things at vastly different sizes. Scale does play a role in gas/fluid behavior due to how a gas' viscosity doesn't proportionally follow the volume of a fluid system (e.g. at lower volume gas tends to present laminar flow but the larger the volume the more turbulent flow becomes).

So in a small space with restricted air flow where fungi is constantly producing CO2, I feel it's definitely possible you can have an equilibrium where the concentration of CO2 near the mycelium is higher than above it because of the small system never being at rest.

I have no idea if this would have any impact on growth though πŸ˜….

What if memory is stored inside the DNA itself? That would explain why people think they have past lives if they are really just viewing their genetic historical memories.
