Hey, wondering what you guys make of this.
First go at agar to grain. Inoculated batches of six quarts, each batch from approx even wedges of a t2 clone plate. Seeing some big differences in the colonization speed and general look of the mycelium across the jars. Some showing very rhizo growth on grain, others not as much.
Interested to see what more experienced cultivators think. Are these differences the result of effectively isolating by portioning up the plate? Or might there be something else going on. All grain was prepped and sterilized in exactly the same manner.
Curious if you would expect to see this much variance from a single plate. Each of the rows pictured is from a separate fruit/final plate.

Yeah looks like jar #8 has a couple wet bacterial grains showing. Otherwise things look pretty good in that regard, even in the slow jars.

So I haven't worked in front of the hood for a month because I had so much spawn and lc prepped. I had to do some pouring to get my spawn back up to stock but I'll admit I was a tad messy.
I somehow managed to set my blade hand alight again But I was chilled and just shook my hand to put the fire out I naturally turned away from the hood and did this, thought it was sorted until I turned back to the hood and saw I had somehow set my iso cloth alight.
So I picked it up.with the scalpel and dumped it in the sink near-by to burn out, that is until I remembered the sink was plastic
I managed to melt part of the sink and stained the rest in brown burn marks.

I'm a dumb-ass sometimes.

For those of you that work with alcohol - they sell these spray fire extinguishers. Same container as bug spray but it's a mini fire extinguisher. Could come in handy.

It's a removable unit like guerilla posted for basic cleanup in my work space, probably should have gone for ss but it has never been a factor until my stupid , stoned ass got involved.

At least my lab coat won't just combust like a tyvek suite, been there, done that

Well, since cooking is a huge passion of mine, I always tend to prefer ss over plastic ^^ But I'm just glad you didn't burn yourself!
